					                     Computer Skills for Job Seeking
                This is a 4 day course for Job Seekers who need
                      basic computer skills for job seeking.
This course equips participants with basic computer skills they need to work effectively in today’s job
market. The course will ensure participants can create and update their own application letters and
resumes; actively search and apply for advertised roles online; or use basic email to send resumes
and communicate with employers. Participants will also learn basic interview techniques including how
to present themselves professionally.

Learning Outcomes:

    Have a basic understanding of how to turn on a computer, use a mouse
    Log into a network and open software
    Have a basic understanding of the Windows Environment
    Open MS Word documents, save documents, close documents
    Create basic MS Word documents (ie Application letter)
    Basic formatting of a MS Word document
    Basic MS Word editing skills (ie, Spell Check, cut and paste)
    Internet basics – URLs, navigating MS Internet Explorer
    Use of search engines (ie, Google, Wiki)
    Create Hotmail email account
    Sent and receive email (reply, forward, cc, etc)
    Attach documents (ie, resumes and letters) to email
    Navigate job search web sites (Seek, Career One, etc)
