Luncheon draws a full house again
   Edvige Weingand, Werner

produced yet another successful
Seniors’ Christmas Luncheon, held
again at the Vancouver Golf Club in
Coquitlam. A full house!
   Our new Consul General, Walter
Deplazes and his wife Sigrid were
Both he and the Vice President
of the Swiss Society, Konrad Iten,
brought their respective greetings. I
think Mr. Deplazes met everyone in
the house!
MC Don Karsenbarg had the after-
noon well organized. The very disci-
plined Swiss Choir under the Baton
of Dubravko Pajalic gave us a well
received selection of their repertoire.
   Solo Saengerin, Ilona Yue, pleased
with a selection of old folk songs
(one of which I had learned more
than 70 years ago in Grade 2.). And
– wouldn’t you expect it – Dubravko
animated us to join enthusiastically
in a sing-along of Swiss songs. There
was ample time to mingle and greet
old acquaintances.
   Edvige and Werner had planned
a special lunch surprise of salad,
“Gschaeztlets,” noodles and vegeta-
bles and dessert, but the veggies were
absent thanks to an ”error” of the Chef Come visit our
