Wanabe Work-At-Home Moms (WAHMs) need to plan their work and then work their plans. There's no way you can just start writing stuff at your computer an instantly become successful if you don't.
When I retired at sixty-two I supplemented my Social Security by working odd jobs. My check wasn't going far and soon even part time work dried up. Employers wanted younger people who would work for less. The Internet was going to have to be my only redemption.
And you know, that's how it turned out. Even though I don't know a lot about hi-tech stuff I've been able to steadily build my business. The system I use has all the technology needed but it quietly works in the background. My business keeps on growing and the great thing about it is age or gender play no part in it.
As a savvy, multi-tasking mom you are probably looking for a work solution that fits YOUR situation. Do you use your computer in your search? Most moms just use their laptops or P.C.s to email or surf for specific info like good parenting tips, shopping online, etc. They don't realize that the answer to their work dilemma is right there in cyberspace.
Have you been thinking about what kind of business you could start from home? As a mom you have interests, hobbies and passions. You may have business expertise, too. You all have knowledge that others do not. It's in your genes to be communicators.
If your child is struggling with something, what do you do? You research it! If the house needs painting you call other moms to find out what painter they used and if they'd recommend them.
So, what's this got to do with becoming a WAHM (Work At Home Mom)? Ask yourself if you use the Internet, what for and how do you search for the information.
Exactly! You use a search engine like Yahoo, Google, AOL, etc. People use the Internet to find information and solutions. When they find a site that provides what they are looking for, they stay for a while. So what does this mean? I want you to think of just one thing that YOU really enjoy doing.
Ok, let's say that you're passionate about scrap booking. You realize you can build a website around that theme and share what you know with others. Let's put on our thinking caps! What are three things related to scrap booking?

2. Special Scissors
3. Your unique way of assembling them all
Your knowledge of scrap booking makes it easy to build web pages on this topic. Now, there is another lady scrap-booker who needs new information on how to assemble photos. She goes to her computer, brings up Google and starts her search. She finds a few sites about the subject but one who's description stands out from the others interests her. She clicks on the link and it takes her to YOUR website.
Your copy is concise, friendly and upbeat. The lady finds it easy to understand and it meets her every need. She feels good about herself in her accomplished search and is relaxed enough about it to visit your site every once in a while because she knows it's where she can find everything she wants to know about scrap booking. Later she returns and purchases a pair of those special scissors you have for sale. Now, do you understand why I asked you to consider one thing that you're passionate about doing? That's a website waiting to happen.
Now I know you are very busy because all Moms are. But that is the beauty of building an online business. You can chip away at it as you have time. The thing to remember is each time you work on your web site, you're growing your business.
