TOWN OF TAOS RESOLUTION 0902 ADOPTING THE BICYCLE MASTER PLAN WHEREAS, the Town Council adopted Resolution 0235 on July 16, 2002 which adopted the “Taos Trails” plan; and WHEREAS, the Taos Trails plan recommends the development of a network of multi use trails for recreation and as an alternative to existing transportation systems; and WHEREAS, the Town of Taos prepared a Bicycle Master Plan to implement many of the goals, policies, and strategies of the Town of Taos Vision 2020 Master Plan and other resolutions that support the development of bicycle facilities; and WHEREAS, the Bicycle Master Plan will be used to guide the planning, design, construction, and maintenance of roadways to provide safe and comfortable facilities for bicycle traffic; and WHEREAS, providing bicycle facilities and programs will enhance the public safety, economy, and public health of the Taos community while providing an alternatives for transportation and recreation; and Now, therefore, be it resolved, that the Town Council approves the Bicycle Master Plan. And, be it further resolved, that the Bicycle Master Plan updates the Taos Trials plan with regard to the proposed bicycle facilities located on the roadways.
