							          Crossroads International Delivery/Pickup Truck Appeal
                  Supported by the Rotary Club of Tsim Sha Tsui East

Crossroads International is a local charity involved in the extensive collection of furniture,
computers, medical equipment, garments and many other types of goods from businesses,
wholesalers and the general public. All these goods once sorted and checked are available to local
and international charities as well as service clubs to fore fill the needs of mankind in many parts of
the world. This makes Crossroads unique as a charity, as they must raise their own operation cost
the same as any other charities yet they exist to support and service these charities around the
world in their request for needed supplies to assist those in need.

At the present moment Crossroads has spent $225,00 dollars in truck hire over the past 12
months. This is an increase of 25% over the previous year and the increase is expected to remain at
25% for the next 12 months.

The Rotary Club of Tsim Sha Tsui East will as part of their community service this year start a
fund to raise money to purchase a truck for Crossroads International. By Crossroads owning their
own truck this may release at lest 60% of the truck rental budget for other needs within the
organisation.

We hope to raise a maximum of $215,000 towards the cost, of which an example is shown below.
Model: Isuzu, Year: 1999, Size: 5.5 Tonne
Other: Air-conditioning, pantechnicon cargo area and hydraulic tailgate.
Price; $198,000 (cash), Registration Transfer: $1,000, Insurance: $14,000

Total Cost: $213,000 (We hope to reduce this amount)

This cost is an estimate only from a quotation received by Crossroads, we could save by using the
services of Rotarians in the motor vehicle industry or who has contact with friends in the trucking
industry. A new truck would not be refused if a sponsor in the industry were found.

We are inviting Rotary clubs who wish to support Crossroads International to donate $25,000
towards the fund and if need be we will operate this project over two years to give those club who
wish to contribute time to organise their funds. We trust it can be accomplished in one year.

We therefore invite you and your club to commit with us in this project and assist a local charity
that does so much for other charities and service clubs both at home and around the world.
