The answer is Choice 2. Paragraph 2 should read as follows: If we let x be the number of 4-year students graduating with honors, then the number of transfer students graduating with honors must be 50 percent greater than x; in other words, x plus 0.5x, which is 1.5x. The total number of students who graduate with honors is 1.5x plus x equals 2.5x. Then the fraction of students who graduate with honors who are transfer students is 1.5x divided by 2.5x equals 1.5 divided by 2.5. There is no need to simplify this fraction. Statement (2) is sufficient.
