Helmbrecht to be next ENISA Executive Director
The European Network and Information Security Agency, ENISA, has announced the selection of Udo Helmbrecht as its next Executive Director. The announcement was made by ENISA’s current Executive Director, Andrea Pirotti, who Helmbrecht replaces. Helmbrecht is presently working as President of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI). He presented himself to the European Parliament, the ITRE Committee (Committee on Industry, on 16 April.

Matthias Petschke has been appointed as the new Head of the European Commission’s Berlin representation. Matthias Petschke joined the Commission in 1995 after having served as First Secretary at the German Permanent Representation to the EU in Brussels. Juan Garat Caramé has been appointed Force Commander of the EU’s anti-piracy mission off the coast of Somalia and in the Gulf of Aden (NAVFOR Somalia/Operation Atalanta) by the Council of Ministers.
