Dear Parent/Carer

I hope all families had a very enjoyable and relaxing mid term break. The children have settled
back to their school routines and are all working hard in classes.

The children and staff are pleased to see that nearly all replacement or repaired classroom
blinds are in place. The new blinds are proving to be every effective on these sunny days.

I have several items of information to bring to your attention:

Ambition and Achievement Day
Carolside pupils enjoyed reflecting on their progress and success last Wednesday in school.
They proudly recorded their school and home achievements, as well as their ambitions for the
future. A copy of your child’s achievements sheet will be sent home today. We hope you will
enjoy reading about and discussing your child’s success.

Allergy Information
Parents are requested to inform the school of any known allergies or medication needed for
allergies (e.g. Epipen) as prescribed by the family GP for your child. Parents are also reminded
that they should keep the school informed of all medication changes relating to the treatment of
allergies. Your support with this request is much appreciated.

Bibleworld Mobile
Bibleworld is coming to Carolside in March and our P6s and P7s will have the opportunity to
visit - see the table of dates below. Bibleworld is an educational resource, using high-tech
computer software, designed to support Curriculum for Excellence. It offers pupils a lively and
stimulating introduction to the Bible and aspects of Christianity. Pupils take part in a 70 minute
session in which they participate in 3 out of 6 activity zones.
For further information and a more detailed description of activities, please visit on the Open
Evenings on Thursday 11th or Tuesday 16th March at 7pm in the Bibleworld Mobile, which
will be situated in the staff car park. Alternatively, you will find more information at
www.bibleworld.co.uk

Parental Involvement
We are most grateful to a number of parents who have spent time working with school staff on
the following developments: Parent Information Letter (sent home today), a new style of Pupil
Progress Report and ideas for communication improvements. Your support with these matters
is very much appreciated.
Voucher Requests
The school is very grateful to all parents who have sent in vouchers and tokens to help us with
our collections for free resources for the children to use in school. The Health and Wellbeing
Committee is especially keen to collect vouchers for cooking equipment. Please continue to
send in any vouchers you have collected for us.
