Michigan FFA Agri-Entrepreneurship Award Application

Applicants attempting to submit an application to the National FFA Agri-Entrepreneurship Education Program must
participate in the Michigan FFA Agri-Entrepreneurship Award Program at the Michigan FFA State Convention.
Applicants must be an active FFA member to apply.
Applicants may be high school graduates if the project was started prior to graduation.
Past state winners may submit an application at the state level to be eligible for the national award program but are
ineligible for judging in the state contest.
All eligible applications, including past state winners, will be announced at the Michigan FFA State Convention.
In order to be considered for this award the applicants must have been instrumental in all aspects of the creation of
the enterprise.
Applicants must have at least 25% ownership of the enterprise.
An agri-enterprise is any business in the agriculture industry (including production agriculture, horticulture, food, fiber,
the environment and natural resources)
Applicants may have projects that fall within a proficiency award area but others may qualify if a relationship to
agriculture, food or natural resources systems can be established.
Applicants will be ranked by a panel of judges using the rubric on the following page.
Applicants will be judged based on progress of the entrepreneurial project.
