     The Fourth International Children’s Art Exhibition
               (With the approval from the Ministry of Culture of PRC)

1. The objective of the Exhibition
Our objective is to discover children art talents, to promote the art development and to
develop the friendship among children all over the world.
We are launching a series of activities under the theme of ―A World in Harmony,
Passing on Love – Marching towards 2008‖, in response to the appeal of H.E. Hu
Jintao, President of the People’s Republic of China: ―Hand in hand, we shall build a
harmonious world of lasting peace and common prosperity”.

3. The main themes of the Fourth Exhibition
The main themes: ―A World in Harmony‖, ―Passing on Love‖ and ―Displaying of
the Spirit of the Olympic Games and World Nationalities‖

4. Call for Art Works of the Fourth Exhibition
I. Arts:
   a. Drawing and painting: pencil drawing, oil painting, sketches, water colors,
      gouache, comic, , cartoon, crayon drawing, computer art etc. The size of the art
      work shall be 39cm by 54cm (15 inches by 21 inches). Use B5, A4 or A3 paper
      for your computer printout.
   Reference suggestions for creation: posters of Beijing Olympic Games (as well as
   previous Olympic Games), cartoon characters, mascots, impression of the host
   city Beijing, portraits and stories of Olympic champions, or sport events.
         Suggested themes: ―I look forward to Beijing Olympic Games‖ ―Beijing
         Olympic Torch Relay‖ ―My Impression of China‖
  b. Design: stamp, stamp chop, post card and student uniform etc. The size of the art
     works please refer to a.
  c. Calligraphy: no restrictions as to the styles of script or the language used. Write
     your name, age, and title in pencil on the back of your calligraphy. Attach label
     and translation to your work.
  d. Photography: Send three to five black-and-white photos or color photos. The size
     of the photos is about 4×6 or 8×12 inches.

   e. Video shooting: Send DVD or VCD disc. The duration of playing shall not
      exceed three minutes.
II. Handiwork: Send three to five photos of each of your knitting, sculpture, carving,
     folk arts, paper cutting and so on at different angles. Collective works with
     environment-friendly materials are encouraged. Photo size is about 4×6 inches.
III. Multi-talent performance (Individuals or in groups): vocal music, instrumental
     music, dance, stage performance etc. Send DVD or VCD disc of your
     performances. The duration of each program shall not exceed three minutes.
IV. Literary works: (Written in Chinese or English only)
  a. Written work from the children and the junior groups:
     Styles: prose, poem, essay, children’s song or rhyme, text message (details
     please refer to our website
      Suggested themes: ―I look forward to Beijing Olympic Games‖ ―Harmony‖
      ―Passing on love‖
  b. Thesis from the art teacher:
     We invite thesis on children art education (about 3000 words) from art teachers.
     Send in your thesis, your art work and your resume with two passport photos
      and one photo (about 4×6 inches) of working activity. The qualified thesis will
      be edited and compiled into an album and the qualified art works compiled into
      a pictorial album.
V. Special projects
   a. Trademark or logo: for the International Children Art Exhibition or Passing on
   b. Mascot design: for Passing on Love.
   c. The theme song of Passing on Love: Lyrics and music are invited for the theme
      song which aims at the audience of teachers and students.
If your work is adopted by us, a reward will be offered.

5. Age categories for Entry
For Children:
   The children participants are divided into different categories according to their
 The Pre-schooler Group (age under 6)
 The Children Group A (age from 7 to 9)
 The Children Group B (age from 10 to 12)
 The Junior Group A (age from 13 to 15)
 The Junior Group B (age from 16 to 18)
 For Teachers:

 No age limit on the art teachers.

6. Evaluation of the art work

After the Final Evaluation, the qualified participants will be invited to the on-the-spot
finals in Beijing in May, 2008.

7. Submission deadline of the art work
   The submission deadline is February 15, 2008.

8. The terms and conditions of entering the Fourth Exhibition
   1) Each participant is allowed one art work for each category of the Exhibition,
       except photography and handiwork.
   2) Send the art work in flat position and well-protected with card boards to
      facilitate evaluation and exhibition. Art works should not be framed, mounted
      or rolled.
  3) Participants must sign their legal names. Using pen names will invalidate your
      qualification for the prizes.
  4) Art works sent in by the participants will not be returned. Keep a duplicate of
      your art works.
  5) Participants of multi-talent performance shall send in the audio-video of your
      program for the Exhibition. Use DVD, VCD or CD as storage media. Mark on
      the disc the participant’s name, the event of the Fourth Exhibition and limit the
      recording time from 5 to 8 minutes.
  6) Two photos of each participant (2 inch or Passport size) are requested to send to
      the Fourth Exhibition.
  7) We welcome participants to attach ―A Touching Story behind the Work‖ to their
     art work.

9. The prizes and awards

    2. ―Best Organization Award for Developing Children Arts‖ for the organization
        with outstanding contribution in developing the talents of the children arts.
  D. Other benefits and honors
    Participants who win the Bronze Prize or better Prize will be short-listed into our
    database of the best children artists. The selected works will be posted on the
    websites of the International Children Art and Passing on Love. Some of the
    selected art works will be on display at home and abroad in the touring
    exhibitions held by ―Passing on Love‖ to publicize the Beijing Olympic Games.

The children, the art educators and the groups or organizations will receive prizes,
mementos, certificates of awards, medals etc., and will be offered the opportunity to
participate in the exhibition at home and abroad and in various activities of Passing on

10. Publication of the art work
The selected art works of the participants and the teachers will be edited and compiled
into an album named: ―Passing on Love, Marching towards 2008—The Fourth
International Children’s Art Exhibition: The Selected Works‖ which will include
photos of the multi-talent performance.

11. The activities of the Fourth Exhibition
July 9, 2007 Press conference by the Special Foundation of Passing on Love (an
               organization set up by the Foundation of China Human Rights).
July 13, 2007 Press conference for ―the Declaration of the Passing on Love and the
               World in Harmony‖ and the launching of the Fourth Exhibition.
May 1,—May 7, 2008 Opening ceremony of the Fourth Exhibition, the final contest
               by Telecast, live broadcast of the Ambassadors of Love and the
               performance of the winners from home and abroad and the awarding
June 1, 2008 Presenting Art Works Ceremony. Presenting 2008 selected art works of
              children both at home and abroad to the IOC, the BOCOG, and China

               Museum for Women and Children and foreign embassies in China, etc.

12. Additional items
1. The procedures to participate in the Exhibition is: firstly sending your art works
    to the Organizing Committee for the evaluation; the delegates of selected
    participants will be informed to come to Beijing for the live contest and awarding
    ceremony; the Organizing Committee will be responsible for the reception and
    arrange the activities. Each participant is to pay his/her own expenses for air
    tickets and accommodation during their staying in Beijing.
2. For winner who could not come to Beijing to participate in the live contest and
   attend the awarding ceremony, the Organizing Committee will award his/her
   medal and certificate to the ambassador of his/her country in China who will
   present in the awarding ceremony.
3. Participants abroad, on the condition that there is no agency of the Organizing
    Committee in their country, can send the works to the Organizing Committee
    directly, or send them to the embassy of their country in China, and then the
    embassy will hand them over to the Organizing Committee.
4. There is no cash award in the Exhibition. The medal is crystal. Winners who
   come to Beijing could win souvenirs with the characteristics of Chinese culture
   and of Beijing Olympics, the value of which is RMB100—RMB1000 yuan.
5. The Exhibition encourages collective participation, but considering the special
   circumstances in foreign countries, individuals are also welcome to participate.
6. Together with foreign embassies or institutions in China participating in the
   Exhibition, the Organizing Committee will hold Friendship Cultural Weeks for
   different countries and present the art works that win prizes to the foreign
   embassies in China.
7. During the Exhibition, the Committee will organize the Little Angels’ Art Troupes
   to give touring performances in China and visit the participating countries.

Special Remarks

1. The works of which the labels are not in detail or vague and the works that do not
   conform to the standards set by the committee will be disqualified. In order to be
   fair and just, the committee urges every participant and organizer to adopt a serious
   attitude and to ascertain the originality of the art works. The works of the students
  shall be signed by the teachers.
2. The art works or contributions will not be returned to the participant. The
  participants shall not use their works or contributions for other purposes than for

  this contest. Participants shall allow the committee to publish their works, but they
  merely retain their rights such as signing, publishing, revising and maintaining the
  integrity of the art works. The committee reserves all the other rights without
  obligations to the participants. The committee has the rights of explanation,
  publication and use or disposal of the art works or contributions. The participant
  who sends in the works is deemed as admitting and agreeing to the terms and
  conditions of the Fourth Exhibition. The final decision is at the discretion of the
