        Midweek policies are always listed at the bottom of every Midweek you receive.
Before submitting an item, please review the submission guidelines. Remember: don’t
send submissions as attachments, keep items to 75 words or fewer, and don’t use colored
text, bullets, or other formatting. Additional guidelines are at the bottom of this e-mail.

Get your flu shot at the CRC...
       Flu shots are a “go” at the Campus Recreation Center November 15, 7-11 a.m.,
and November 16, 1:30-4:30 p.m. If individuals are covered by Anthem, there is no
charge. If they are not covered, there is a $20 charge. Sign-ups start on the October 27, at
the wellness fair. For more information, contact Justin at X-6584.

Theatre department costume sale Oct. 27-28...
       Get ready for Halloween and beyond with great deals on truly unique costumes.
October 27, 1-4:30 p.m., and October 28, 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m., in the second floor theatre
lounge off the elevator in Fine Arts. Proceeds will partially benefit students traveling to
London with the CCSA.

Board of Regents to meet Nov. 9...
       The Board of Regents will meet November 9. The Policy and Finance Committee
will meet 8:30-9:45 a.m., and the Board of Regents will meet 9:45 a.m.-11 a.m. Both
meetings will be in the University Center Ballroom and are open to the public.
Attendance is encouraged. NOTE: These times are different from the customary times
and are a change from a previous announcement.

Welcome Center needs comprehensive master calendar...
       To accurately direct visitors and answer phone inquiries, Welcome Center staff
need an absolutely up-to-date and comprehensive campus calendar. Submit non-
University and campus-only events directly to the master calendar. Any University-
sponsored event open to public participation must be submitted to NKU Connections;
these will be automatically added to the Master Calendar at 5 p.m. daily. Questions?

Anthropology Association event Oct. 27 to benefit victims of Hurricane Stan...
       The NKU Student Anthropology Association is holding a fundraising event on
October 27 at the Olde Ft. Thomas Pub located at 1041 S. Ft. Thomas Avenue. There will
be two local bands, Lonely the Seabird and The Caterpillar Tracks. Doors open at 8 p.m.
Cover charge is $4 ($3 with a costume), and half the proceeds go to the Red Cross to aid
Guatemalans devastated by Hurricane Stan. Call (859) 816-9296 for more information.

Come celebrate the publication of “Of Woods and Water: A Kentucky Outdoors
Reader” Nov. 10...
        The Friends of Steely Library invite the campus community to celebrate the
publication of the book Of Woods and Water: A Kentucky Outdoors Reader, edited by
Ron Ellis with foreword by Nick Lyons, on November 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the Steely
Library loggia. The program will be followed by a signing with the authors and a dessert

Physical Plant moving Oct. 26-28...
        Physical Plant administrative offices will move from Founders Hall to the
Maintenance Building located on Campbell Drive north of University Suites. The move
will take place October 26-28. All phone numbers will remain the same. Keys will be
delivered by Physical Plant from the Maintenance Building to the requestor.
Transportation Services/Vehicle Reservations will be located in the north end of the
building next to Motor Pool. Your understanding and patience while we make this
transition is greatly appreciated.

Major/Minor Fair Nov. 2...
       The Major/Minor Fair is information gathering made simple for NKU students.
Faculty and students from more than 40 academic departments and programs will be
available to share information about their majors and minors with exploring students.
Encourage your students to attend November 2, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the University Center
Ballroom. Free food available.

Wellness Fair Oct. 27...

       The Wellness Fair is October 27, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in the Campus Recreation
Center. There will be more than 80 health and wellness vendors there to fit your needs, so
come and check out your health and wellness opportunities, get a free chair massage, and
grab some free food and tons of prizes. For more information, call X-5197.

Spring break ski trip...
       The outdoor adventure program is offering a spring break ski trip to Snowshoe
Mountain, West Virginia, March 6-8, 2006. This trip is a three-day trip that includes free
transportation, lodging in a luxurious cabin, three days of skiing and lift tickets, and some
meals for only $199 per person. Family and friends are invited too. For more information,

       Do you ski or snowboard? Do you want to learn? The new ski/snowboard club is
having an informational meeting October 27 at 4:30 p.m. in the Campus Recreation

         KTAP is selling entertainment books. There are hundreds of buy-one-get-one-free
offers from restaurants, sports teams, and recreational activities. Also includes discounts

Annual Staff Congress open forums...
         Staff Congress is sponsoring open forums on:
         - October 31, 2-3:30 p.m. (AC 506)
         - November 2, 10-11:30 a.m. (AC 506)
         - November 8, 4-5 p.m. (BEP 200)
         - November 10, 10-11:30 a.m. (Budig Theater)
         Open forums give staff members the opportunity to inquire about benefits/policies
that involve a large segment of the NKU community. Staff members can ask questions or
express concerns regarding any benefit/policy. Come and be heard.
