Whether you’re a newbie or expert, this session will give you a better understanding of the world of media a mouse click away. 50 Ways to Integrate Discovery Education streaming A run-down of ways to integrate Discovery Education streaming content into your lesson. We will highlight many of the 50 ways, with a step-by-step focus on making powerful presentations. Tools used during this workshop: Discovery Education streaming, Microsoft PowerPoint & Apple Keynote. Participants will create their own linear and nonlinear, 5 slide presentation on a single concept within their content area. Select student & teacher projects will be highlighted and critiqued. Discovery Educator Network (DEN) Lunch & Learn Educators are connecting, sharing and collaborating with colleagues around the country through the Discovery Educator Network (DEN). Thousands of in-person and virtual events take place each year, inspiring countless media infused lessons and projects. Sit-back, enjoy your meal and learn about the benefits of becoming an active DEN member, a STAR Discovery Educator. We’ll highlight projects, both teacher and student designed, as well as events, past and present. In conclusion, a guided walk-thru of the STAR Discovery Educator registration process and a challenge for you to take back to your school and district. DuPage One: Connect, Collaborate and Share A double session in which you will learn about DuPage One, an on-line service coming soon to your district. Imagine being only a click away from your districts media resources or a keyword search from a huge repository of lessons, created by teachers in your district and throughout DuPage county. DuPage One will be the central location for media, lesson plans/projects and professional development. We’ll discuss not only how to navigate the service, but how you can connect, collaborate and share with teachers from across the county. Most of the session will focus on hands-on projects, lessons you can use during the school year. Below are a few specific projects we’ll share and create together.
