Hingham School Committee 220 Central Street Hingham, MA 02043 Dear Hingham School Committee Members, I wish to inform you that we are suspending the submission of the petitions to the Hingham Board of Selectmen until the conclusion of your next scheduled meeting this coming Monday, June 22nd. At that meeting, we request that the School Committee reconsider its vote of May 11th and instead vote to accept the recommendation of the School Naming Committee, submitted to you during that same meeting on May 11th. As we have discussed with you on multiple occasions over the past two weeks, we all seek to find a resolution that addresses the concerns of a significant number of Hingham residents and ultimately avoids a special town meeting. We are also particularly mindful and sensitive to the personal discomfort that would be inflicted upon Dr. Galo were this public dispute to continue. The interest of the public can best be served if the Hingham School Committee votes on Monday to accept the recommendation of the Naming Committee.
Sincerely,
Peter T. Finney cc: Hingham Board of Selectmen
