Tetra Tech, Inc. (Tetra Tech) is a supplier of engineering, consulting, construction management, program management
and technical services concentrating mainly on resource management, infrastructure and the environment. The company
caters public and private clients by dealing with basic needs of water, environmental services, infrastructure, natural
resources and energy. The company’s solutions runs through the entire life cycle of the project which includes research
and technology, applied science, design, engineering, construction management, construction, maintenance and
operations and information technology.

Tetra Tech aligns its operations into four reportable segments, namely, engineering and consulting services (ECS),
technical support services (TSS), engineering and architecture aervices (EAS) and remediation and construction
management (RCM).

The engineering and consulting services (ECS) segment offers front-end science and consulting services. It deals with
project management in the areas of surface water management, waste management, groundwater, geotechnical
sciences, mining and information technology and modeling. Water resources services mainly cater to the US federal and
Canadian provincial government clients such as Department of Defense, the US Environmental Protection Agency,
Alberta Ministry of Environment and the US Department of Energy. The company also provides services to broad base of
clients in aerospace, alternative, mining, chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum, retail and utility industries. Under waste
management, the company offers wide range of engineering and consulting services for waste disposal, landfill design
and management, hazardous waste contamination and remediation projects. Additionally, it also performs risk
assessments to determine the possibility of adverse health effects that may be an outcome from exposure to
contaminated substance. Its activities in groundwater include evaluation, investigating and identifying the sources of
chemical contamination to groundwater and designing of its remedial alternatives. In addition, monitoring studies are also
conducted to assess the effectiveness of groundwater treatment. Mining and geotechnical sciences involve feasibility
analysis, designing, permitting, operating and closing of all types mining and geotechnical practices. Its information
technology integration supports the US federal government programs in data management, processing, communications
and tool development. In fiscal year 2010, the ECS segment contributed 33.2% towards the total revenues of the
company.

In the technical support services (TSS) segment, the company counsels its clients through its study, design and
implementation of projects. It provides consulting services and strategic direction in environmental remedial planning,
disaster management, international development, climate change and technical government staffing services. Tetra
Tech’s environmental remedial planning offers comprehensive services for environmental planning and reuse of sites with
contaminated with toxics, chemicals and hazardous materials. Disaster management deals with prevention,
preparedness, response, protection and recovery against chemical, radiological, biological, explosive releases and natural
hazards such as tsunami, earthquake and flood. In the US, the company supports the Department of Homeland Security,
the Federal Emergency Management Agency and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration apart from other
commercial clients. Under its international development and climate changes sub-segments, the company plans, designs,
implements, researches and monitors broader projects of climate change, rural and agriculture development and
greenhouse gas inventory assessment. In fiscal year 2010, the TSS segment accounted for 24.0% of the total revenues
generating US$527.7 million.

Tetra Tech’s engineering and architecture services (EAS) segment offers engineering and architecture design services
including Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED). It provides technical and program administration
services for water infrastructure, buildings, transportation and land development project. Its services include planning,
architectural engineering and construction management services catering to federal, state and local government apart
from other commercial clients. The company’s water infrastructure designing and technical services are catered to several
aspects of water quality and quantity management. In transportation sector, it is engaged in undertaking roadway
improvement, airport expansion, commuter railway stations, major highway and bridge project. The segment contributed
US$294.1 million towards the total revenues for fiscal year 2010, which accounted for 13.3% to the total revenue.

The company’s remediation and construction management (RCM) provides wide array of services including program
management, engineering, construction, construction management and maintenance and operations. This segment
focuses on the US federal construction management and environmental remediation including unexploded ordnance,
energy projects and communications development. Its services also include environmental remediation and reconstruction
services which are used to evaluate and restore lands for beneficial use. The company’s energy projects include
development of wind, solar, nuclear and other alternative energy facilities including geothermal, nuclear and bio-
generation power plants. In fiscal 2010, the segment contributed the highest towards the total revenue accounting for
34.5% of the total revenue.
