online marketing for their business.

Most business owners are aware that they must
take their marketing efforts online, but are often
confused and cautious about how to evaluate
what constitutes a worthy SEO (search engine
optimisation) or online marketing campaign. We
are about to expose in very simple terms how SEO
and online marketing is an extremely laser
targeted form of marketing that is always held
accountable by firm statistics which can be tracked
every step of the way. From Planning your SEO
and online marketing campaign, through to
reporting on its effectiveness it will never let you
down.

The obvious signs that any marketing campaign is working be it online or offline is
when the phone begins to ring or when customers come flooding through the doors of
your business. However, before you make the conscious decision to invest your

suggests, Google trends is an amazing web application created by Google which allows
you to track the popularity of any search term based upon how many times people
have searched for that particular term or phrase in relations to the overall search
volume in any given time period.

Let’s s use the search term “SEO” as an example; Over a 12 month period there may
have be 5 million searches in total, however 3 million of those searches may have
occurred over the past 2 months. This would obviously represent a very healthy upward
trend for the search term “SEO” considering 60% of the 12 month search volume came
in the space of the last 2 months. What’s even better is, you can also generate
popularity trends for Countries, sub-regions, cities and even languages.

How powerful could these statistics be during your decision making, online strategising
and pre-planning process?

Google Trends Feature – Hot Searches

Described by Google as; “With Hot Searches, you can see a snapshot of what’s on the
public’s collective mind by viewing the fastest-rising searches for different points of
time. You can see a list of today’s top 40 fastest-rising search queries in the U.S. You
can also select a recent date in history to see what the top rising searches were and
what the search activity looked like over the course of that day. Hot Searches are
updated hourly.”
