Your cover letter introduces your resume to the recruiter. Paragraph 1 draws attention to the reason of you sending the letter. You are usually responding to an ad and enclosing your resume to be considered for a job. You may mention where you saw the job posted and the date you saw it posted. Paragraph 2 is where you sell yourself academically. Write about your academic achievements and also express 3 or 4 exact things that you can do for the company. Relate things that you have learned in school, things that you can do, and duties they want you to do, and have expressed in their job posting. Paragraph 3 explains your work experience.
