The 2011 Arts & Culture Guide for Dufferin, South Simcoe, Caledon and Area.
The Dufferin, South Simcoe, Caledon and Area Arts & Culture Guide is embarking on its 4th year. The
Guide was designed to meet the needs of arts and cultural organizations and individuals whose limited
resources prevented them from marketing much beyond the borders of the region. For each of the past
three years 50,000 copies were produced and circulated both within the area and into the Greater
Toronto Area, Barrie and Collingwood.
The Arts & Culture Guide has become a not-for-profit corporation. This was prompted by two events.
The first being the introduction of the HST and the second that Jim and Arnold could not find any
volunteers to take on the time-consuming job of putting together this magazine. Sarah Robertson has
joined Arnold and Jim and will be taking over duties from both of them through the production of the
2011 and 2012 Guides. During the course of 2011 she will become a part-time paid staff member.
Arnold, Jim and their partners form the board of the new entity and will continue to oversee the
operation until the publication of the 2012 Guide.
The 2011 Guide is sponsored by the Dufferin Arts Council, the Dufferin County Museum and Archives,
The Gibson Centre, the South Simcoe Arts Council, the Alton Mill and Headwaters Arts. Jim Lorriman
and Arnold DeGraaff are producing the guide with the backing of the Arts Forum. The 2010 Guide was
refined further from the 2009 edition and was enthusiastically received wherever it was displayed.
There will also be an artists' index this year so that the numbers on the map can be correlated to the
numbers on the listings. Last year our Guide was 36 pages. We are again looking at 36 pages this year.
With the impact of the HST we are not expecting to expand the Guide this year.

bleeds and uploading to his ftp site. Occasionally, unique spaces within the Guide arise. These could
provide marketing opportunities for our advertisers.

Details for acceptable files, graphics, fonts, etc. will be sent to you in early December. You may
provide you files by CD, USB stick or by uploading to our ftp site.
Payment is due by the 31st of January, 2011 and the deadline for your files is February 12, 2011.
Bills will be sent out the first week in January, 2011, by email wherever possible. Bills will include the
price of your ad only. We no longer charge tax of any kind.
