The 4G drive is being pushed with the promise of target peak data rates of about one hundred Mbit per second rates for high mobility, like in vehicles, and about one Gbit per second for low mobility, like local and nomadic wireless access. With such speeds available it would only take about 45 seconds to download a 600-MB full length movie would take about 45 seconds, as compared to over 20 minutes for a 3G network. 4G wireless isn’t only about data rates, and it is way more than faster 3g. These days, the cellular 3G and 2G networks offer excellent quality for narrowband data transmission such as emails and text messaging and mobile voice, and also rudimentary video transmission and website browsing. The 4G networks will change the way these transmissions occur entirely. Based in an all IP network the next wireless generation will substantially change the experience and definition of mobile communications and will and support numerous types of traffic on one converged infrastructure. The user of the 4G network will have a high band network connectivity that is seamless and will have access to any application regardless of the location or the device. The reliable delivery and high quality of high definition mobile TV, multimedia messaging, high speed data transmission, real time video streaming , virtual reality experiences, and unified communications sessions will all become affordable and commonplace for the subscribers to a wireless service. The change to a 4G network will also become crucial for supporting what is rapidly becoming a hyper connected communications environment. There are more machines and devices, of which many are mobile, are fast becoming connected to the network and IP enabled which far exceeds the number of people who will use the network. As time goes on, there will be an exponential growth in the types and number of services, applications, and users, and a greater drive towards more extensive lifestyles and much richer experiences. The 4G networks make possible the increased numbe r of rich new mobile services and applications that attract new and existing users. Conventional wireless service providers are being joined by new entrants that are moving into the broadband wireless space and getting into the nontraditional spectrum. This includes operators like satellite and cable service providers who are gaining ground the world of wireless communications. For instance Bell Canada and Rogers Communications are combining their broadband resources to build a new national wireless network in Canada. This goal of the new network is to deliver access to Internet data transmission by means of mobile devices, video streaming, and voice transmission.
