[Romans 12:6 – The Message]
‘Let's just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pride-fully comparing
ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren't.’
The theme for our scripture bite this week is BE YOU
A good friend of mine once told me, “God doesn’t make rubbish.” And it’s true – he doesn’t. When God made us, he
did so with a special reason in mind. He has a special job for us that no-one else can do. It’s no use trying to be like
someone else – life would be boring if we were all the same. God made us all different – so that we could learn from
one another and have something to give that’s unique to us. Think about it – what can you give to the people around
you? Be what you were made to be.
Creator God, Fill me with your Holy Spirit, that I may have the courage and grace to be who you created me to be. I
am a child of God and I have a special job to do, with gifts that are unique to me. Help me to use my gifts and talents
to benefit others. Amen.

RAF COSFORD – WORK EXPERIENCE : Year 10, 11, 12 and 13
I have listed below the work experience weeks being offered by RAF Cosford next year. They run from Monday -
Thursday and are open to both male and female students. The course takes students into a variety of sections at RAF
Cosford to open their eyes to the many different careers available in the Royal Air Force.
Week commencing: 28 February, 21 March, 4 April, 9 May, 23 May, 20 June, 27 June, 4 July
The Courses are NOT residential and you have to make your own way there and back to Cosford each day. Please
check that this is possible before coming to see me.
As the dates will mean you having time out of school, you must make sure that your parents and Head of House have
agreed and that you are not missing any important tests or exams. Each school has been allocated only 2 places each
week. If you have a keen interest in joining the RAF and want me to reserve a place, please come and see me as soon
as possible!

If your child’s attendance drops below 90% you will automatically receive a letter notifying you of the situation. This
percentage drop will take into account:
authorised absences / holidays / absences not accounted for
If you are unaware of any absences for your child, it is imperative that you contact us immediately in order that the
                                   appropriate checks/amendments can be made.
Any absence from school is a cause for concern!
It is generally accepted that attainment is better if attendance is high.

Regular Lateness = Absence Regular Attendance = Increased Attainment
Over a school year: 90% attendance = 19 days absent
5 minutes late every day = 3 days absent 85% attendance = 29 days absent (half a term)
15 minutes late every day = 10 days absent 80% attendance = 38 days absent
30 minutes late every day = 19 days absent 75% attendance = 47 days absent
