In 1994 the reserves were promoted to the Premier Combination Division 1 after finishing runners up in the Bristol Senior Division and they also won the GFA Junior Cup 1996 saw the first XI become Champions of the Gloucestershire County League and in season 1997/8 they won the Gloucestershire Challenge Trophy. When the ground at Carsons Road was developed for housing DRG AFC took over Stapleton AFC and moved to their present ground at Frenchay Park Road. A great deal of work had to be done improving the pitch to bring it up to County League standard. Unfortunately the Club has not had the same success since their enforced move, with the Reserve side being demoted to the Bristol & District Division 3 where they are playing at present.
