Classroom Consequences
1. Warning/Reminder
2. Student kept after class/sent to hall/missing a reward such as a food lab
3. Detention - takes priority over sports or activities
4. Phone call or conference with _________
5. Referral sent to office
Usually the consequences for inappropriate behavior are given in the order
listed. For example, if a student is blurting out, I remind him/her to
raise their hand. If the student continues to blurt out, I will keep them after class.
The next step is detention and so on down the list.
However consequences are not followed in order if the behavior is very
inappropriate. For example, if a student squirts water on another student
during a lab, detention would be assigned.
