world. how I really wanted to see the SEAN course (Study by Extension to all Nations)
expand and once again be the dynamic equipping ministry it once was at
Canadian Bible College. Through much prayer, lots of revisions and
organization and with the help of Claudia Scott the SEAN tutor’s resources
were all updated and computerized
A short time later, leaders from 3 local church plants began taking SEAN as part
of their equipping for ministry and the Christian and Missionary Alliance in
Canada made a decision to recognize the completion of SEAN as a pathway to
fulltime ministry in a local Alliance church.
We look back at the past 10 months and
are overwhelmed by what God has been
doing;
In December 10 students from 4
churches graduated
In January 11 new students from
4 churches formed a new class
and began their 2 year journey
In June 10 students from 5

We were expecting to have a semester off but then the unexpected
happened. During the month of August emails and phone calls began pouring
in and when all was said and done 22 students from 12 churches had
registered for the fall SEAN class.
The students were divided into two classes and began
meeting Sunday evenings at Brampton West. Then came
another surprise... a class of 6 started SEAN on Monday
nights at the Hope Centre, a drop-in ministry located in the
old Brampton Mall. Last June we thought there wouldn’t be
a class this fall and now we have 28 new students.
This year our SEAN Centre has a total of 37 students from
14 different churches. Why God has chosen Brampton
West for such a ministry is beyond us and where it will lead
only He knows. We still hope and pray that a South Asian
Book 1 at the SEAN centre will be established to help plant and develop
Hope Centre South Asian churches across the GTA. Meanwhile we
shall simply leave it with Him! Joy DeGaris SEAN Coordinator

Through SEAN we seek to develop and equip church and
SEAN ministry leaders who will establish fruitful reproducing

OUR DREAM – The establishment of a South Asian
SEAN Centre in Malton
The Facts - 69% of the total population are visible minorities with 42.9% being South Asian.
24.9% of the population is Sikh and 11.3% Hindu. Less than 46% of the population list English as
their mother tongue.
Now imagine a SEAN Centre in the heart of Malton for the training
and equipping of South Asian church leaders, Pastors and Church
planters to serve in the GTA! Would you pray with us?
If you know anyone from India or Pakistan who may be interested in taking SEAN please let us know!
We’d love to hear from past, present and future students!
