There will be an annual Awards Ceremony in September for representatives of all entrants who will be presented with Award Certificates, and if applicable, trophies.
JUDGING
This takes place during July and the entrants will be contacted by the judges in May or June. Judging criteria include: Visible impact of flowers and floral bedding
CHILDREN’S PAINTING COMPETITION
Children aged up to 16 are encouraged to take part in the East Midlands in Bloom Competition by painting a floral picture, representing a season. First placed winners will be invited to the Presentation. Certificates and tokens will be sent to the runners up. East Midlands in Bloom
East Midlands in Bloom is an annual competition organised by the EMIB Regional Committee, and is the Regional Competition of ‘Britain in Bloom’.
The aim of the competition is to encourage the improvement of our surroundings through the imaginative use of trees, shrubs, flowers and landscaping. It also aims to achieve a litter free and sustainable environment. This links directly to the three RHS core pillars of excellence which are:
BRITAIN IN BLOOM – National Competition
A number of regional winners will be chosen to represent East Midlands in Bloom in the UK Finals. They will compete against the winners from 11 other English regions, together with Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, the Channel Islands, and the Isle of Man.
