Bartell Drugs announces plans for new Issaquah store opening in
2009
SEATTLE—Bartell Drugs has announced plans to open a new store in Issaquah in
2009.

Located in Overlake Center at 5700 East Lake Sammamish Parkway, the new 16,407
square-foot store will offer the full range of services and is slated to open next fall.

“We have been working towards opening a location in Issaquah for a number of years,”
said George D. Bartell, chairman and CEO of the 56-store chain. “We’re very excited
about this new location and look forward to serving the needs of the community.”

The new store will include a full-service pharmacy with drive-thru service, many natural
and organic health, beauty and cleaning products, nutritional supplements, a broad
selection of convenience foods, greeting cards and more. It will feature Bartell’s
exclusive PixPlus™ department—offering digital print kiosks, a broader selection of
camera and sound electronics, on-site, one hour photo finishing and a passport photo
center.

The new store is expected to employ approximately 25 employee associates.

Other tenants in Overlake Center include Overlake Medical Center, The Goddard
School and 24 Hour Fitness. The developer of the center is OB Frank Properties, LLC.

Seattle-based Bartell Drugs will own and operate 56 stores in King, Snohomish and
Pierce counties. Family-owned for 118 years, it is the nation's oldest drugstore chain.
