Join us on Saturday and Sunday, January 26–27, 2008 for our 5th Annual Festival of Human Abilities, a celebration of the creative spirit of people with disabilities.
Colours ‘N’ Motion
F
EATURING music, storytelling and interactive displays for children and adults, the festival will give guests the opportunity to enjoy a number of performances and activities that showcase the talents of people from diverse backgrounds and abilities. Presenters will include Colours ‘N’ Motion wheelchair Hip Hop dancers; Bayadera, featuring Dat Nguyen, who, despite a visual impairment has become an award-winning classical guitarist, composer, and song-writer; and the Signing Choir, Love in Motion, who “sing” with their hands, sharing their inspirational gift of communication through music and signing. Glenn McIntyre, a nationally known keynote speaker on topics related to people with disabilities, will be the master of ceremonies. His canine assistant, Boylan, will demonstrate his amazing skills. Wheely Willy, a tiny paraplegic dog, will illustrate his courageous and inspiring life. The Aquarium of the Pacific is home to more than 12,500 animals. Our interactive exhibits put you in touch with rays, sharks, lorikeets and more. Enter Lorikeet Forest and let affectionate feathered friends drink nectar from your hand. Move on to Shark Lagoon and touch a shark or ray, or view the graceful moves of larger sharks from an underwater viewing window.
