                   PROJECT WORKER – INTERCULTURAL MISSION
                          (Part –time, 6 month Contract)
The Salvation Army Box Hill Corps is seeking to employ a Project Worker – Intercultural Mission
as part of our Ministry team. The position is part time (25 hours per week), for a fixed contract of 6
months. The position will be based at Box Hill Corps, 17-23 Nelson Road Box Hill.

Box Hill Corps is situated in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne in the busy educational, health,
shopping and transport hub of Box Hill. This diverse and vibrant multicultural community is a
significant regional centre within wider Melbourne. The Box Hill Corps maintains a varied and lively
ministry to the people in our community.

This purpose of this position is to investigate and initiate intercultural mission opportunities through
Box Hill Corps. The position is aimed at reaching out to the large number of people in our
community from Non-English speaking backgrounds.

The successful applicant will need a range of skills and competencies including:
    Willingness to work in accordance with The Salvation Army’s mission and values
    Basic knowledge of, and adherence to Salvation Army theology and culture
    Relevant Qualification at Certificate or Diploma level (Ministry or Community Services)
    Ability to use initiative and work with minimal supervision
    Excellent interpersonal, networking and team skills.
    Ability to relate to a diverse range of people.
    Demonstrated ability to plan and problem-solve
    Passion and spiritual gifting to work in intercultural mission
