Google built the Cr-
48 with hacking in mind, so it’s no surprise that we’re seeing othe
r operating systems crop up. Still, it’s fun to watch, and enterprisi
ng hackers have got most of the usual suspects up and running: f
irst Ubuntu, and now Mac OS X and Windows. It sounds like a lot
of work, and we pledged that 2011 was going to be the year we s
at on our asses and didn’t do anything hard, but you’re welcome t
o give it a shot! Just hit up those source links below for instructio
ns, and follow after the break for video of OS X in action.

The CR-48 may be a laptop you can't buy --
I don't know whether the chrome systemsdue next year from ace
r and Samsung will resemble it in the least --
but I dig its industrial design. It looks like the unexpected offspri
ng of the late, lamented BLACK MACBOOK. It's extremely simple
(no stickers!) and has a comfy, full-
size keyboard, and the soft finish feels good. The 12.1-
inch screen makes for a machine that feels more like a small note
book than a netbook.
