                              Invitation for Expressions of Interest

NHS Camden is inviting Expressions of Interest (EoI) from experienced and suitably qualified
organisations to manage and deliver the Child Weight Management Service (CWMS) to children,
young people and their families to ‘enable sustained long-term movement towards and
maintenance of a healthier weight among overweight and obese children and young people’.

The CWMS includes provision of:

               •   Assessment of needs and care planning;
               •   Assessment of willingness and motivation to change;
               •   Delivery of the Child Weight Management Programme(s) (CWMP);
               •   A Child Specialist Weight Management Team (CSWMT);
               •   Case management;
               •   Weight maintenance;
               •   Signposting to other services;
               • Discharge management and communication to GPs.

The service is to be provided to residents in a variety of community settings within the Borough of

The contract term is three years commencing Spring/Summer 2011, with an option to extend for a
further period not exceeding one year, subject to satisfactory performance.

This service is being procured via an Invitation to Tender (ITT). Ideally, NHS Camden is looking for
a single provider to co-ordinate, manage and deliver CWMS, with the necessary capacity and
competence to deliver a safe, effective, fair and personalised service to children, young people and
families (within budget, and any future budgetary amendments and restrictions). Interested
organisations that are not able to provide CWMS in its entirety may form partnerships with
other organisations to bid as a single provider.

For further information about the NHS Camden CWMS procurement, interested parties are
directed to the Memorandum of Information (MOI), which will appear on the PCT’s website from
Friday 29 October 2010:

Those wishing to submit an Expression of Interest in tendering for the contract are asked to do so
in accordance with the instructions set out within the MOI, to arrive before noon on Friday 19
November 2010.
