XML SCORM Studio is …
 A SCORM 2004 content design,
     conversion, aggregation and editing tool
 A tool for combining content from multiple
     sources in different formats (including
     S1000D Data Modules) into SCORM
courseware with a consistent look and feel
 A tool for creating, visualizing and reusing
complex sequences of modules with pre-
     tests, post-tests and remediation
 A prototype (let’s not forget this)
This slide is licensed under a Creative

XML SCORM Studio supports …
 Converting existing interactive content
     into SCORM 2004 content
 Preserving content in a standards-based
     format for updating and reuse
 Developing new SCORM 2004 courseware
     from combinations of existing content
 Creating, storing and reusing sequencing
and navigation patterns in SCORM 2004
     courseware
 Conforming to Instruction 1322.26

XML SCORM Studio is part of a vision …

 Combining and repurposing training
content should be as easy as combining
    and repurposing PowerPoint slides
 Working with instructional designs should
    be visual and simple
 Content should be developed once and
used many times in many ways in many
    formats
 Standards should be invisible facilitators

This slide is licensed under a Creative
    Eduworks Corporation Commons Attribution-NoDerivs 2.5

XML SCORM Studio is designed to
overcome roadblocks to reuse …
 Content comes in multiple formats with multiple
     structures, designs and styles.
 Digital media formats are constantly evolving and
     changing
 Content that is useful for training was not necessarily
created for training – Technical Publications are a great
     example!
 Designers and developers want to reuse chunks of
content, not entire courses or even entire SCOs.
 Reuse takes place in context – pedagogy & instructional
     design are important!

     and by open source tools
 Capable of separately representing media
     elements, navigation and styles
 Capable of rendering in varied delivery formats
(e.g. Dynamic HTML, Flash, for Mobile devices).
