                                               PROCEDURES,
                    ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS AND PROCEDURES, 2010

1.       Only students who have obtained a final Psychology 3 average mark of 60% or
         more need apply. Consideration for selection is subject to this requirement being
         met. Please note that the closing date for Honours applications is 2 November
         2009                                             considered.
         2009. No late or incomplete applications will be considered.
2.       There are two routes of applying depending on category of students. Students
         are categorised into current University of Western Cape students and students
                                      University
         from other Universities/former UWC students who have had a break in their
         studies:
         (a) Current UWC students:
     •   Obtain and complete the Departmental Application form (DAF) and Internal
         Transmission Form at the Department of Psychology.
     •   Attach an academic transcript to the DAF.
     •   Request two referees to complete the required reports and to forward them
         directly to address.
     •   Return the DAF to Honours Psychology Senior Officer in Department of
         Psychology
         (b) Students from other Universities or former UWC students who have had a
                  studies:
         break in studies:
     •                                    Post-Graduate
         Obtain and complete a University Post-Graduate Application Form (UPAF) for
         admission to the university at Admissions Office or do an online application

     •                                                         (DAF)
         Obtain and complete the Departmental Application form (DAF) with the
         department of psychology.
     •   Attach a copy of academic transcript to the DAF
     •   Return the DAF to Honours Psychology Senior Officer in the Department of
         Psychology
     •   Return the UPAF to the Admissions Office
     •   Attach copies of your matriculation certificate and an academic transcript to the
         UPAF
     •   Request two referees to complete the required reports and to forward them
         directly to address.



3.       Applicants will be informed about the outcome of selection after applications
         have been processed by the Honours Psychology Collective. Acceptance
         following the Departmental Selection is also subject to administrative clearance
         and acceptance by the candidate of the modules offered to him/her.
4.      No admission (permission to register) is valid without written communication by
        the course coordinator that the candidate has been selected.
