God has given us eternal life, and this is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have
the Son of God does not have life.
                                  1 John 5 : 11, 12

You know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became
poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.
                                                         2 Corinthians 8 : 9

God gives to all

He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons; He provides you with
plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.

God gives generously to all.
                           James 1 : 5

God richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment.
                                                       1 Timothy 6 : 17

God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you
will abound in every good work.
                               2 Corinthians 9 : 8

God’s promises

The Lord God said: “ Will a man rob God? Yet you rob Me.” But you ask, “How do we rob you?” In tithes
and offerings. Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse. “Test Me in this, “ says the Lord Almighty, “and
see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have
room enough for it.”
                      Malachi 3 : 8, 10

God’s desire

Therefore I urge you brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and
pleasing to God – which is your spiritual worship.
                                                  Romans 12 : 1

The Lord has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and
to love mercy and to walk humbly with God.
                                           Micah 6 : 8

Jesus said

You cannot serve both God and Money. Therefore, I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will
eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body
more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns,
and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?
                                                                                       Matthew 6: 24 – 26

We must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: “ It is more blessed to give
than to receive.”
                  Acts 20 : 35

The Lord Jesus said: “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy,
and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and
rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your
heart will be also.”
                     Matthew 6 : 19 – 21

Attitudes to guide us

As He looked up, Jesus saw the rich putting their gifts into the temple treasury. He also saw a poor widow
put in two very small copper coins. “I tell you the truth” He said, “this poor widow has put in more than all
the others. All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had
to live on.”
             Luke 21 : 1 – 4

                                                      Cheerfully 2 Corinthians 9 : 7
Giving for others

And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace that God has given the Macedonian churches.
Out of the lost severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For
I testify that they gave us as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability. Entirely on their own,
they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. And they did not do
as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God’s will.
                                                                                       2 Corinthians 8 : 1 – 5

God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown Him as you have helped His
people and continue to help them.
                                   Hebrews 6 : 10

Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously.
Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for
God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all
times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As it is written: “He has scattered His
gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures for ever.” Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread
for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your
righteousness. You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and
through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God. This service that you perform is not only
supplying the needs of God’s people, but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.
                                                                                    2 Corinthians 9 : 6 – 12

Each of us will give an account of himself to God.
                                                     Romans 14 : 12

It is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
                                                                          1 Corinthians 4 : 2

The Lord Jesus said: “Whoever can be trusted with very little can be trusted with much, and whoever is
dishonest with little will also be dishonest with much.”
                                                        Luke 16 : 10

Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of
many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!
                                                      Matthew 25 : 21
