The KwaDukuza Municipality seeks to fill the following positions and accordingly
invites applications from persons who meet the requirements as indicated.
Please note that the post title and post identification number (KDM..) MUST

Finance Directorate

KDMFE 12: CREDITORS CLERK (Level 7: R 121587.65 – R 141907.15 p.a.
plus R 229.24 – R 267.55 non pensionable allowance per month)

Requirements: Grade 12 with Mathematics and Accounting + 1 year relevant
(creditors) experience and computer literate.

Duties: Processing of creditors for timeous payment, reconciliation of creditors
accounts and attend to queries regarding creditors accounts.

KDMFR 050: ENQUIRIES CLERK (Level 9: R88677.41 – R 99228.63 p.a. plus
R 167.19 – R 187.08 non pensionable allowance per month)

Requirements: Grade 12 with Mathematics and Accounting + experience in
handling account queries and dealing with the public. Knowledge/ experience of
local government services and applicable legislation would be of interest.

Duties: Assist consumers at the counter with their account queries, complete
documents as and when required and attend to telephone enquiries.

KDMFR05: ACCOUNTANT BILLING (Level 5: R 164251.13 – 181372.71 p.a.
plus a R 309.67 – R 341.95 non pensionable allowance per month).
[CONTRACTUAL subject to the successful candidate meeting the minimum
prescribed competencies as required by National Treasury by December
2012.

Requirements: A B Com Degree (Accounting major) plus 5 years experience in
a finance department, a valid code 8 drivers license and computer literacy (MS
Word and Excel). Knowledge of or experience in municipal billing systems,
prepaid electricity, vending, MFMA, Credit Control Policy, Rates policy and
applicable by-laws will be advantageous
Duties: Coordinate and control the application of accounting procedures in the
billing section. Attend to written, telephonic and audit queries. Balance the votes
pertaining to the section. Manage the disconnections and reconnections as well
as staff in the billing section.

Corporate Services Directorate

KDMCS 44: PRINTING ASSISTANT (Level 13/11: R57059.91 – R77553.59 p.a.
plus R 107.58 – R 146.22 non pensionable allowance per month)

Requirements: Grade 12 + at least 2 years printing experience (in a municipal
environment will be advantageous) and a valid light motor vehicle driver’s
license.

Duties: Perform tasks/ activities associated with the printing, reproduction and
dispatching of documents, minutes, agendas and newsletters in the municipality
according to laid down specifications and instructions.

KDMCS 24: ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (COMMITTEES) (Level 5: Level 5: R
164251.13 – 181372.71 p.a. plus a R 309.67 – R 341.95 non pensionable
allowance per month )

Requirements: Grade 12 + National Diploma Public Administration and 3 years
administration experience preferably in a local government environment, MS
Word and a valid code 08 motor vehicle driver’s license.

Duties: Perform tasks/ activities associated with coordinating the logistical
requirements for Council and committee meetings, provide secretarial support
through application of laid down meeting procedure, access and make available
information relating to meetings, translate documents and perform related
administrative sequences.

Technical Services Directorate

KDMWS 1O: WORKSHOP CLERK (Level 8: R101445.63 – R116006.32 p.a.
plus R 191.26 – R 218.71 non pensionable allowance per month)

Requirements: A Grade 12 qualification, computer literacy (MS Word and MS
Excel), a valid code B driver’s license and one year’s clerical experience in a
mechanical workshop environment.

Duties: Provide clerical/ administrative support to the workshop which entails
recording of fleet vehicle odometer readings, checking and ensuring that fleet
vehicles have valid licenses, collect licenses from licensing offices, collect
spares, collect and distribute mail.

Economic Development and Planning Directorate

KDMDP 14: BUILDING AND DRAINAGE INSPECTOR (Level 7: R 121587.65 –
R 141907.15 p.a. plus R 229.24 – R 267.55 non pensionable allowance per
month p.a. + locomotion allowance and cell phone allowance in terms of
Council’s policy)

Requirements: A National Diploma in one of the building construction disciplines
plus 2 years working experience (which entails the application of the National
Building Regulations and the Building Standards Act) and a valid light motor
vehicle driver’s license are compulsory.

Duties: Inspection of buildings under construction for compliance with the
National Building Regulations and Building Standards Act, enforcement of the
National Building Regulations, approval of business licenses and related
administration and reporting.

KDMDP 13: PLANS EXAMINER (Level 7: R 121587.65 – R 141907.15 p.a.
plus R 229.24 – R 267.55 non pensionable allowance per month +
locomotion allowance and cell phone allowance in terms of Council’s
policy)

Requirements: A National Diploma in one of the building construction disciplines
plus 2 years relevant working experience and a valid code 8/EB driver’s license

Duties: Under the direction of the Building Control Officer the key performance
areas shall include: Scrutinizing of building plans and documentation submitted
for approval site inspections to ascertain the accuracy of information supplied on
plans pre-scrutiny of building plans to facilitate the timeous approval of such
plans, assisting the public with enquiries/ complaints regarding building control
matters and giving technical advice to Architects, Developers, applicants and
other professional. The incumbent will be required to prepare reports to the
Council on Building Control matters

RELIEF LIBRARY ASSISTANT (Level 10: R77553.59 – R87157,10 p.a. plus R
146.22 – R 164.32 non pensionable allowance per month)

Requirements: Grade 12 plus experience in a library or similar environment and
computer literacy.

Duties: Issue and receipt of books and other library stock, photocopying,
shelving of books, supervising scholars, attending to baggage, assist with user
queries and reference duties.
Note: This post is required for 10 hours per week and the remuneration will be
pro-rated according to the hours worked.

Municipal Services Directorate

KWAKDMHS 04: PROFESSIONAL NURSE (Level 6: R 145475.23 – R
160613.81 p.a. plus R 274.27 – R 302.82 non pensionable allowance per
month
Requirements: An acceptable tertiary qualification (Degree/ Diploma) in General
Nursing and Midwifery, proof of registration with the South African Nursing
Council and 4 years post qualification nursing experience.

Duties: Provision of primary health care which entails the diagnosis and
treatment of minor ailments; prevention of communicable diseases; provision of
family planning services, ante-natal, post natal and immunization services;
treatment for HIV/AIDS and ordering and dispensing of medication.

KDMMS 21: ASSISTANT FOREMAN: PARKS & GARDENS (Level 7: R
121587.65 – R 141907.15 p.a. plus R 229.24 – R 267.55 non pensionable
allowance per month)

Requirements: A National Diploma in Horticulture or acceptable equivalent at
NQF 5 level + 2 years working experience in a Parks environment, and a valid
code 08/ EB driver’s license.

Duties: Landscaping, plant propagation and application of herbicides in
compliance with relevant legislation and by-laws; supervision of staff; public and
inter –departmental liaison and communications; project co-ordination and report
writing.

KDMST 87: GRADE A EXAMINER OF LEARNERS AND DRIVERS LICENSES
(Level 7: R 121587.65 – R 141907.15 p.a. plus R 229.24 – R 267.55 non
pensionable allowance per month)

Requirements: A grade 12/ NQF 4 plus Grade A Examiners of Learners and
Drivers Licenses Diploma plus Traffic Officers Diploma. EC and A drivers
licenses and qualify to be registered as a Peace Officer plus 1 year experience
as a Grade A Examiner of Learners and Drivers Licenses and Traffic Officer.

Duties: Conduct Examinations of Learners and Drivers License in accordance
with legislative requirements and procedure manuals. Information recording and
record keeping


KDMPS33: PERSONAL PROTECTION OFFICER (Level 11: R 70137.49 –
77553.59 p.a. + a R 132.24 – R 146.22 non pensionable allowance per
month)

Requirements: Preferably a grade 10 or NQF Level 2 equivalent qualification,
successful completion of VIP protection and Firearm Tactic (SWAT) course and 6
months current Personal Protection experience. A code 8 driver’s license will be
advantageous .

Duties: Responsible for the total safety and protection of the Mayor. Will be
required to work on shift basis including weekends and public holidays and must
be prepared to travel when necessary.
