Systems Engineer SMS 2003 Package OAT Testing – EDF Energy - Computacenter
14th September 2009 – April 2010

       Working with a large Computacenter team at the EDF Energy site in Worthing on a project to rationalise the
        IT infrastructure. Transforming the current systems of CCM & Radia to a standard SMS 2003 system - also
        reducing the large amount of hardware platforms in the estate. SMS will provide all PC & laptop builds and all
        applications fully automated.
       My responsibility was testing all software packages that are created for SMS before they are passed for UAT
       Using the Microsoft SMS (Systems Management Server) 2003 System & Console to add packages to
        collections & Distribution points
       Creating test installation & removal advertisements
       Creating & Organising Active Directory Computers & Security Groups
       Building/Rebuilding new PCs to install advertised installations and test the programs have installed and run
       Performing ZTI (Zero Touch Installation) deployment tests - removing the test advertisements and installing
        new packages as part of the ZTI automated build process. Then again testing program functionality.
       Documenting all test results and installation failures and tracking the status of each application. Using
        Infraweb to track call requests & task progress.

Desktop Support Engineer – Portsmouth NHS Trust - IPHIS
May 2009 – July 2009

       Supporting the Desktop Support Team (DTS) based at St. James Hospital, but covering the 3 major hospitals
        and all community sites in and around Portsmouth, during the PFI project of the new Q.A. Hospital build.
       Supporting. Repairing, replacing and new installs of all trust desktops, laptop, printers, PDAs, Blackberry‟s
        and PC related medical equipment.
       Technologies used include Windows XP, Server 2003 & 2008, AD, DHCP, IP addressing / scopes &
        reservations, Remote support and remote access, network printing, Laptop and USB storage encryptions,
        McAfee Antivirus, Microsoft SMS, Exchange 2003, 3G, Ghost, IP Telephony, Sharepoint, HIPS and various
        medical software applications.
       I worked independently across the sites, picking up and closing calls reliably, also working n teams for
        problem solving and larger jobs.

Deployment Co-ordinator / Technical Lead Engineer – Computacenter / Vodafone DRIVE (Accenture) Project
September 2008 – April 2009

       Responsible for all engineers carrying out Laptop & Desktops rebuilds & replacements of for all users in
        Vodafone UK (Covering several UK Wide contact centres & Newbury Vodafone HQ)
       I maintained an Access Database detailing all user & laptop/desktop information and requirements. Detailing
        all special requirements, application requests, admin rights, from which I also produced engineer build sheets.
       Providing technical lead and support to the engineers for the new builds, archives and USM data transfers.
       Technologies used were HP OVCM Radia, XP, VB Scripting, WinPE, AD, Group Policy, Ghost, WIM,
        Spider, SQL Studio, Scanstate & Loadstate.
       Providing and supporting Mobile Deployment Servers –with Server 2003 & Radia Proxy Servers.
       I provided 2nd and some 3rd line support and training to build engineers, reported defects to the build designers
        and worked together with them on resolutions.
       Acting a main point of contact to the user floor walkers and Reporting/updating/monitoring of issues and
        defects into Remedy & Mercury Quality Centre.
       Producing detailed report at the end of every nights deployments for Senior Managers & Technical Architects
        and Senior Engineers of all builds carried out and explanations of technical failures.
Technical Project Co-ordinator – Hampshire PCT (NHS) / Aldesrhot Centre for Health
June 2008 – September 2008

       Responsible for the installation and setup of the complete I.T. infrastructure for the flagship AC4H “super

        VMWare, MS Office, Powerpoint & Project 2003 and NHS applications.
       I also attend Project Management meeting with all the groups moving into the building in August, including
        the MoD.
       This was a very technically challenged project with all the various health groups all using unique I.T. systems
        that are all to be using the same physical LAN.
       I worked closely with the PM for project documentation, some in Prince2 format, project plans, meeting
        minutes, progress reporting and user guides.
       Worked closely with the 1st, 2nd & 3rd line engineers that would be supporting the centre, teaching them the
        complex requirements of the infrastructure, constructing test labs & test machines and then supporting them
        during the rollout of machines.

ICT Infrastructure Engineer – Portsmouth NHS Trust (IPHIS) / EDM Project
May 2008 – June 2008

       Working with the infrastructure team on the EDM project – to provide all patient documents electronically.
       carried out surveys of various departments around all local hospitals to inspect existing hardware and discuss
        with Clinical Directors extra requirements/replacements for new machines, to provide EDM for all nurses and
       We. I‟d arrange for power/network/wireless points to be installed and then deploy new machines.
       We used Ghost for the build images, SMS for software deployment, then I‟d sit with each nurse/doctor to
        install and test specialist software needs.
       Infopath, helpdesk and Sharepoint was used for documentation.

Project Co-ordinator & Subject Matter Expert (SME) – A&O Systems and Services / EDS TREDSS Project
October 2007 – April 2008

       Working directly with the Project Manager, I have been running the EDS TREDSS / DWP Transformation
        Project - deploying 7500 laptops, 144000 desktops and 5000 Job-points to 2000 DWP sites, using Microsoft
       I was responsible for the overseeing and smooth running of all aspects of the project. Acting as the central
        point of contact for the client and customer, ensuring all requirements are met and that customer satisfaction is
       Sourcing, planning, scheduling and providing all resources that will be required.

       Carrying out the desktop refresh project for EDS (TREDSS), removing and de-commissioning existing
        machines and replacing with complete new systems.
       We installed various software packages using Novadigm Radia & SMS servers.
       After rollouts were completed I‟d then stay on site for user testing of the new machines and provide 1 st and 2nd
        line support.
       I progressed well during the project and was promoted to Team Leader and then regional co-ordinator. I was
        responsible for teams of engineers carrying out the TREDDS (and IMAC) projects for EDS.
       I produced work sheets, asset collection, on-site liaison with DWP officers, manage engineer time sheets,
        signing off for all new pc‟s & laptops deployed, keeping up-to-date an installation diary, arranging deliveries
        and collections and also helping engineers when possible.
         I was also involved in pilot SMS/ADS deployments, specialising in the new laptop deployments. I also trained
          engineers and other team leaders to use these systems.

Electrical & Electronic Engineering Experience:
             Jan 2002 – Dec 2005 – Electrical Calibration Technician
             Fleet Support Limited – HM Naval Base, Portsmouth (BaE & Vospers)
             Working in a controlled environment conditions lab. Carried out and supervised the
             Electrical/Electronic calibration of several items of test equipment used by fitters throughout the
             dockyard and Royal Navy, also the specialist test equipment used by the Diagnosticians who
             setup/test radar, sonar and weapon systems of Naval ships. I also carried out Team
             Leader/Management stand-in duties. The calibration involved working to Defence Standards, of
             stripping down and fully testing functionality and accuracies of equipment, to very high specifications
             (often above those quoted by manufacturers), carrying out repairs where possible, upgrading/re-
             flashing ROMs, changing and improving components. The tests were carried out using specialist
             calibration electrical equipment, also using computers to control procedures and equipment using
             IEEE, which most of was also tested and maintained by myself, including writing the programming

             Electrically testing all buildings in the Naval Base to the 16 th Edition IEE wiring regulations, then
             producing, on computer, detailed test reports on the buildings‟ electrical installation showing any
             defects that need to be remedied, which are normally carried out by myself. I also work with our Plant
             Maintenance section which carries out building maintenance and installation work throughout the
             Dockyard, this includes computerised building plant management systems like “Jelnet” (SCADA),
             air-conditioning systems and I am also part of the H.M.S. Victory maintenance and testing team.

             Working in an office environment, planning/ordering materials for forthcoming ship work using

             involved liasing with many retail / contract firms to ensure delivery dates of stores, or even collection
             by myself.
