                                                                                      T  he mission of FERTI is to generate meaningful research that is applicable to
                                                                                         both South African and international contexts. As such the unit aims to expand
                                                                                      research opportunities and outputs in the faculty by introducing new research
                                                                                      projects and through supervision of master’s and doctoral research.

                                                                                      The unit also aims to create opportunities for other faculty members to become
                                                                                      involved in research projects to expand their own research outputs.

                                                                                      FERTI also aims to serve varied communities via innovative projects and technologies.
                                                                                      Members of FERTI are currently involved in major community-based projects.
