					The Twelve Labors of Hercules

Hercules was a legendary Greek hero, part god and part human. His adventures included
the famous Twelve Labors assigned by Eurystheus, King of Greece:
1. Killing the lion of Nemea
2. Killing the nine-headed serpent of Lerna
3. Capturing the elusive hind (stag) of Arcadia
4. Capturing the wild boar of Mt. Erymanthus
5. Cleaning in a single day the cattle stables of King Augeas
6. Shooting the monstrous man-eating birds of the marshes of Stymphalia
7. Capturing the mad bull that terrorized Crete
8. Capturing the man-eating mares of King Diomedes
9. Taking the girdle (decorative belt) of Hippolyte, queen of the Amazons (woman
warriors)
10. Taking the cattle of the three-bodied giant Geryon
11. Bringing back the golden apples kept at the world’s end by the Hesperides
12. Capturing the three-headed dog Cerberus, guardian of the gates of Hades
