Synopsis:
Deputed as Project Manager, Tech. lead for all ERP project implementations.

Projects:

PeopleSoft HRMS implementation along with ESA module for the entire group

   Working as a Project Manager, technical lead. Responsible towards IT deliverables.
   Work closely with business heads to ensure timely successful implementation.
   Project rollout completed across all stores, across business formats. Total locations covered
    under rollout 65.
   The group currently has 4500 employees and as per the five year business plan it will have
    an employee base of 15000 employees. This necessitates the presence of good people
    management system, which allows for retention, growth, succession planning, personal
    development, appraisals rewarding talent, credentials.

Airport Retail Stores and Applications at the following locations. MIAL (Mumbai), GHIAL
(Hyderabad), BIAL (Bangalore)

   Implementation, setup of SAP/R3 (ECC6) for airport retail (a JV with the Nuance Group,
    Switzerland). Since the JV partners use SAP it was part of mandate to use SAP systems at
    the airports.
   Total number of stores: 12 (MIAL / GHIAL / BIAL), ICD warehouse, 3 Feeder bonds with
    warehouse functionality and airport operations offices. The project was kicked off in July
    2007 and completed in March 2008. The airports went live operation as in March 2008 and
    May 2008.
   All processes to manage entire supply chain, including management of bonded warehouse
    are managed through SAP systems. Paper work has been minimized to the extent of
    mandatory requirements put across by Customs Authority of India.
   SAP Modules implemented: FI/CO, MM, WH, POS and SAP BW.
   Project implementation completed and handed over to support teams.

Arthur Planning: Location, FMWSSI, Assortment Planning for Shoppers Stop

   Modules of Arthur Planning: Location planning, FMWSSI (Financial Management Of Weekly
    Stock Status and Intake), Cross planning, Range planning, Assortment planning.
   Implemented location planning and FMWSSI; assortment planning (as a stand alone
    application) for the division: Ladies. This was done as a pilot to check on the extent and
    capabilities of assortment planning. The pilot was successful tested and resulted in the
    building of respective interfaces with the host systems.
   As the number of stores have been increasing, it’s important that we have the right
    merchandise mix on the floor, we have been successful in implementing location and
    FMWSSI modules, the same are used across Shoppers Stop B&M for targets and budgets
    sign off. Location planning and FMWSSI are used for pre-season as well as in-season
    planning. The same also helped in Monday reporting to track merchandise and effectively
    manage stocks. The migration to SOR (sale or return) module with the vendors has also
    minimized risk for the business.


JDA MMS system implementation / migration for Crossword (Book, Music Store business)

   ERP system setup for Crossword: Migration of Crossword and its franchise from Movex /
    RSF ERP platform to JDA – MMS / WINDSS platform. The franchise network operated on
    Clipper based application prior to migration.
   Implemented JDA MMS and WINDSS for Crossword. This was a group committee decision
    that all companies should have a common system platform for operation. Further details of

   Crossword business, which majorly deals in books, music, and video, used Movex and RSF
    application from Intentia. The application was good enough to meet the business
    requirement, though as a group strategy and consolidation we migrated the same onto JDA
    ERP system.
   Crossword has 48 Bookstores across India. The same operate as stand-alone stores, shop
    in shop or combination of specialty stores. E.g. Crossword, Mothercare, Food & Beverages.

Implementation of ERP systems for Hypercity & Hypercity Argos (JDA-MMS and Retail J)

   Implementation of ERP systems for Hypercity – Argos. Used JDA-MMS and Retail J (Front
    end application used by Argos, for in-store warehouse functioning).
   Hypercity Argos is a JV between Hypercity India and Argos Group UK. Though we could
    have made things much simpler, the JV partners wanted equal stake in systems setup and
    a combinations of best technologies within companies involved had to be deployed.
   This was a complex setup as it had multiple interfaces. It was managed successfully, there
    were initial challenges managing the same but over six months of operation post go-live
    we have been able to fix the same, and now things are cruising along smoothly.

Implementation of Intactix application for Hypercity Retail Chain

   Intactix is a space and category planning application.
   Space & category management solution enables retailers and manufacturers to plan and
    execute category and merchandise plans designed to achieve demand-based precision
    merchandising – the ultimate goal of optimized cluster and store-specific category and
    assortment management – maximizing category and overall profitability and sales per
    square foot.
   Currently we use the standalone version not the IKB version(Intactix Knowledge Base)
   This was implemented to get effective shelf and floor plans. As we gather more and more
    data rolling out new stores and setting up layouts becomes easier as this helps us in brand
    wise data analysis and the sales mix with combinations of the brands.

Shawman (Material Management & POS) for F&B Business Division

   Application Implemented: Shawman Material Management System, Shawman POS.
   F&B business uses Shawman application; the same was evaluated and implemented for the
    food and beverages business.
   Shawman specializes in F&B applications and have systems to do (material management
    for central kitchen operations) and also very good POS systems for F&B operations. JDA
    MMS was a costly affair for this business. Also JDA had challenges in managing weight and
    unit sales to be managed as a combo. Shawman was a proper F&B application and also
    cost was 1/10th the cost of what JDA would cost us.


Data Warehouse and Business Reporting

   Implementation, deployment of Netezza and Clara view data model solution.
   Implementation and configuration of technology stack for SAS Netezza Connectors and
    SAS reporting framework.
   Integration with host systems: JDA-MMS, OFS, LOYALTY and HRMS.
   Coordination with business and development of reports for the same.


AFL Limited
Company Profile: AFL is a premier Cargo, Courier and Logistics company in a tie up with DHL
Worldwide Express.

Head - Business Technologies
 Managed a team of regional IT managers, business champions, systems and database
   administrators.
 Implemented project ‘Stratos’. Customised ERP system developed by RAMCO Systems to
   manage logistics, warehousing and billing. Web and client server architecture based
   system. Application developed using Microsoft Technologies, Oracle 9i database operates
   on HP-UX platforms. Platforms: Windows IIS, HP UX, Ramco Virtual Works.
 Successfully deployed at the central site and 65 locations across India. All locations were
   connected via Lease Lines, VPN connections and dial-up networks.
 Integrations: Document Management System (DMS), Financial Accounting System - FAS
   (Oracle Financials), Pager Operators, Mobile Operators, Symbol PDA’s, 2D Data Matrix
   Scanners, Bar Coding Systems, B2B partner – DHL. Customer Automation at key account
   customer locations, Vertical Rack Equipment – Sorting Equipment (VRS), Call Centre (IVR)
   System.
 Completed Network Setup across 45 locations across India, process set up to cover 120
   locations by July 2004. Undertook a case study on bandwidth analysis, network testing, for
   deployment across the country.
