Months of research and preparation for the 2010 midterm elections translated to sweeping electoral success for ACA International. More than 80 percent of the ACPAC-supported candidates won their elections. These results will matter a great deal as ACA moves forward with its legislative and regulatory agenda.ACPAC gives ACA and its members stronger voices in the legislative process by financially supporting candidates who positively influence public policy affecting the credit and collection industry. This helps ACAs Government Affairs Department share industry views with legislators.ACPAC has raised more than $700,000 since Jan. 1, 2009. Of this amount, $290,000 was raised in funds given directly to targeted candidates by ACA members. Nearly 1,000 ACA members made personal contributions to ACPAC and targeted candidates in 2009/10. ACPAC contributed close to $500,000 to more than 80 candidates running for House or Senate seats or to other political action committees.
