FLASF Poster Contest Entry Details 1) To enter, contestants must submit an original poster advertising the 2011 Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Science (“FLASF”). They must also complete contest entry and permission forms (these forms are available on the FLASF website at: www.flasf.on.ca). The completed Poster Contest Entry form and Poster Contest Permission form must be signed and then scanned and emailed to email@example.com along with the electronic poster files by Friday, November 26, 2010 2) The final date for the submission of the poster and all forms is Friday, November 26, 2010. 3) Judging and Awards: Entries will be judged on: • Originality • Creative imagination • Relevance for FLASF and its themes and objectives • Adherence to the contest rules Prize: $150 cash award to be presented to the winner at the Science Fair on April 8, 2011. The prize must be accepted as awarded and is not transferable. There will be no substitution, except at the discretion of FLASF. The odds of winning a prize are dependent on the total number of eligible entries received. Contest Rules and Regulations 1) The poster contest is open only to students in the Frontenac, Lennox and Addington regions. 2) Contestants must be in grades 7 to 12 and enrolled full-time in an elementary or secondary school during the contest period. 3) The contest is limited to one entry per person. 4) The contest is void when prohibited by law. 5) Posters must be original work. Posters that have been previously accepted for another contest will not qualify for this contest. 6) Posters may NOT contain any copyrighted or otherwise protected material for which you have not obtained permission to use, including but not limited to: a. Images, photography, or art; b. Text; and c. Trademarks. FLASF Poster Contest Entry Details 7) Posters must be submitted as three (3) electronic files as follows a. The original graphic file b. A vector (.ai, .eps, etc) file (if different from the orginal), and c. An exported high quality .jpg file at 300 dpi. 8) Posters must be designed digitally on a computer using graphics software of your choice and must meet the following requirements: a. Must use 8.5” x 11” page; b. Must contain the words “40th Annual Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Science Fair”; c. Must include the fair dates: “Thursday, April 7th and Friday, April 8th 2011”; d. Must include the deadline for registration: “Friday March 11th 2011”; e. Must include the FLASF website address: www.flasf.on.ca f. Should include suitable original art design with the theme of science or aspects related to science.
