ADVENTURE LANDING With two locations in Jacksonville, Adventure Landing lets employees tune into their inner child. Both parks offer five different teambuilding activities from adventure golf to tug of war. A special package is available that includes a choice of three activities for any size group (with a minimum of 10). Buy-outs are available after-hours until four in the morning and include unlimited access to the speedway, arcade, golf, and laser tag. Traditional park fare from hot dogs to pizza to BBQ picnic staples can be arranged as well. The nature park offers various packages complete with lodging, catering, river tours, and teambuilding activities for groups of any size (with a minimum of 15 people). Accommodations include large cabins for as many as 70 people each or rooms at the Schoolhouse Inn. Four meeting rooms are also available as well as programs to keep spouses and children busy while employees attend to business. There are also plenty of outdoor activities from canoeing to rope courses. Also available is an 80,000-square-foot terrace for banquets, receptions, and exhibitions. If looking for more space, the Cecil Recreation Complex located next to the center offers a 37,000-square -foot meeting room, community center, Olympic-size pool, and three softball fields. Corporations can host meetings and events in conjunction with the annual races held at the venue. A variety of suites can accommodate between 25 to 45 people each plus there’s an open-air pavilion for as many as 2,500 people for a seated event. A smaller 3,000-square-foot meeting room for as many as 100 people is also available. Group packages for a minimum of 15 people include access to rides and special attractions such as go-karts and bumper boats. Packages for Sam’s Surf City, the park’s new water attraction, are also available. Events can be held at any hour, even overnight, and the park can cater any type of function as well. A 40- by 60-square-foot pavilion that can host 150 people seated is debuting this month along with a new high-tech and more challenging go-kart track. Whether it’s a small African street party or a dinner among beautiful ruins of an Indian palace, this park can accommodate any event. It offers more than 20 event venues, including attractions and Broadway-style shows, which can accommodate groups from 20 to 2,000. Larger groups of as many as 18,000, can take over the entire park or utilize multiple adjoining venues. (P.O. Choose from more than 15 areas and venues in which to hold meetings, lectures, or gala events for groups of 50 to more than 10,000 people. Entire park buy-outs are available. (P.O. Unlike its casual counterparts, the Bill France Room offers an elegant space for sit down dinner for 160 or cocktail receptions for 200. Chefs are available to create simple meals to elaborate seven-course dinners. The room also has a stage complete with podium, 61-inch projection screen, and audiovisual system. Plan a teambuilding program, an outdoor concert, or stage a black-tie awards banquet—all can be arranged in this diverse location. The inhouse catering team can cook up everything from hamburgers and fries to steak dinners. BILLIE SWAMP SAFARI Part of the Seminole Tribe’s Big Cypress Reservation in the Florida Everglades, the safari is an alternate location for meetings. An amphitheater with bleacher seating can accommodate as many as 200, while another smaller theater can host 100. An outdoor roofed area is great for picnics for as many as 80 people. Decorated with a retro feel, Atlantic also has a 30- by 6-foot outdoor patio that can be used for events for as many as 40 people. Mardi Gras features four full bars and a multilevel dance floor, while country lovers hang out at the Crazy Horse Saloon and twostep on the wooden dance floor, ride the mechanical bull, take dance lessons, or watch a country music concert. Reflex has more of a retro ambiance, and live blues in an intimate setting with piano bar can be found in the Blue Room. The Varsity room has more than 16,000 songs to choose from for karaoke. V.I.P. suites are perfect for private parties. As many as 20 people can be hosted in the largest suite, which has four tables, large sectional sofa, large screen TV, and private bathroom. Two smaller suites for 12 people each have similar amenities. Pom’s Thai Bistro is its upstairs neighbor, and its full menu is available to all of the club’s patrons. The restaurant can also provide catering services for events held at the club. It’s available until 4 PM for events and can provide full audiovisual services. The second club has a beach theme and room for 700 guests as well. Both can be rented out during the day, and the staff can arrange entertainment, DJs, and audiovisual support for any event. It can host anything from business meetings to product launches for more than 200 patrons. It’s Gasparilla every day at the bar, decorated with a nautical and pirate theme. As many as 900 people can be accommodated at the grotto for corporate and social events. An outdoor patio area measuring 6,300 square feet is also available for picnics. V.I.P. areas are available for hosting private gatherings, and companies can use four 50-inch plasma screens for promotional materials. As many as 350 people can be accommodated at GLO for receptions or 100 for sit-down dinners. If additional space is needed, the adjacent and rear parking lots can be tented for larger crowds. POSH Located only a mile from the Orange County Convention Center, Posh is also within walking distance of many area hotels, making it a convenient spot for business-related events. The club’s main room accommodates 350 people and includes a 13- by 24-foot stage. Posh also offers six additional areas (including two patios) that seat between 10 and 150 guests. An adjacent parking lot can be converted into an event space for an additional 350 people, with an option for tenting. A projection screen behind the stage in the main room and in the sake bar, along with five plasma screens located throughout the club, can project company logos or promotional videos. The main room is equipped with two large video walls that can be used during events. Celebrity visitors and performers have included Britney Spears, 50 Cent, and Michael Jordan. Asia inspired the overall decor of the club, which is scattered with golden Buddha statues, Chinese lanterns, and other Zen accents. With nostalgic favorites and futuristic technology, it can accommodate as many as 900 guests reception-style or 400-seated downstairs. The upper level boasts private skyboxes and a new lounge for 175 offers views of the entire space, which boasts 150 TVs and two 16- by 9-foot video walls. Full service catering is also available. Able to accommodate as many as 500 people, the lounge’s design has similar Asian influences to Opium, but with a more modern flair. Glass fixtures, a waterfall, and plush cream colored furniture dominate the space, making it a favorite hangout of celebs like Jessica Simpson. An outdoor concert hall can host any musical act plus 2,000 fans, and there’s an outdoor balcony with its own bar for 250 guests. The lounge is ideal for groups of 200, while a separate ballroom can hold 600 for presentations, meetings, or sit-down dinners. For outdoor events, the pool deck has its own bars and cabanas and room for 1,000 guests. The hotel can cater events done on-site, but planners can use outside caterers. The 3,500-square-foot club boasts three bars and a mechanical bull. The mezzanine level features a billiards table and a lounge area filled with Louis XIII-style furniture and leather swings. Designer lingerie hangs from chandeliers made not with shimmering crystals but animal antlers. The uplit central bar is reflected in the 12-foot mirrors etched with the images of Axl Rose and Jim Morrison. Day or evening events can be accommodated at Snatch, and the mechanical bull can be moved to make room for a stage for performances or presentations. AMIKA LOFT LOUNGE The 9,600-square-foot club in Miami Beach mixes 60’s style with high-energy house music. Divided into a 1,400-squarefoot lounge on the first floor accompanied by a 6,600square-foot main room plus an upstairs loft measuring 1,600 square feet, the entire club can accommodate 600 people at one time for events. The club features mod furniture, LED lighting, state-of-the-art sound system, and four bars. Staff can also provide audiovisual equipment for events held there. The 4,275-square-foot space has been available for private events since October 2005. The two-acre pool terrace can host events for 200 people Mondays through Wednesdays only. It has an outdoor living room ambience with teak furniture, overstuffed loveseats with blue and white cushions, and a 16-foot water wall. The hotel can cater and provide floral arrangements, decor, and rentals. It has eight bars, two giant screen TVs plus 88 regular TVs, an expansive dance floor, and a sports bar where enthusiasts can enjoy the game from the 25-foot long ice bar. The new Media Room is a turnkey meeting space complete with audiovisual and broadcasting capabilities. The club also has a full service catering department ready to customize menus to any theme and event. Able to host from 20 to 2,000 guests, the bi-level club has an industrial design with high ceilings. The mezzanine level has a series of cabanas for private gatherings and can be set up with its own bar area. For performances, a stage area is located on one end of the venue. Individual platforms are also scattered throughout the space. The club can also provide audiovisual support for any event. Seven projection screens are available for branding and presentations along with a state-of-the-art sound system. An elevated private area has a ten-foot fireplace and adjoining Moroccan-style champagne lounge. Celebs and other highprofile clientele can retreat to the Guest Suite, which features a one-way mirror to view all the revelry in private. STARLITE CRUISES Starlite has two large ships available for cruises: the Starlite Majesty and Starlite Princess. The Majesty has two dining decks that accommodate a maximum of 120 and 158 passengers, respectively. It sets sail from Clearwater Beach. The main deck of the Princess, an authentic paddle wheel riverboat, has a capacity for 100 people plus a mezzanine for 62 and deck for 76. The main deck and mezzanine can be combined for larger groups of as many as 162 people. The Princess sails from St. Petersburg. Full lunch and dinner menus are made to order onboard, and the ships also have a full-service bar. In 2004, it underwent a $1 million expansion that added an outside dining area off the second-floor veranda, tripled the kitchen size, and doubled the size of the promenade deck. It cruises out of Ybor Channel into the Hillsborough Bay and Garrison Channel, which offers views of Bayshore Drive, Harbour Island, Davis Island, and the downtown Tampa skyline. It also offers a smaller 92-foot yacht, the Lady Tampa Bay. It has a capacity for 149 passengers and is based out of the Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel & Marina. It can accommodate as many as 550 people banquet-style, 400 seated, and 300 classroom-style. It’s 30 minutes away from the Tampa International Airport. Other amenities include business center, high speed wireless internet access, and on-site audio visual services. Sirata can assist with coordinating themed events, fireworks, golf tournaments, and area fishing or sailing charters. The resort features 380 rooms and a selection of on-property restaurants. The ballroom holds 4,060 people for general sessions. The exhibit hall can house 841 10- by 10-foot booths or be divided into three smaller sections if needed. Three additional halls, ranging in size from 42,774 to 64,887 square feet has its own foyer, food concession area, and loading docks. EMERALD COAST CONFERENCE CENTER Emerald Coast boasts over 35,000 square feet of flexible, column-free meeting and exhibit space with cutting edge equipment and catering services. The 21,500-square-foot ballroom can sit 1,400 people banquet-style or 2,350 theater-style. Twelve meeting rooms ranging from 450 to 1,800 square feet include telephone lines, high speed Internet access, and teleconference outlets located throughout.
