                                                            Stationery is a direct and personal form of contact with our
                                                            employees, customers and stakeholders. It is important that we
                                                            present a consistent corporate image wherever we operate to
                                                            reinforce the Standard Bank brand. To help us achieve this, all
                                                            stationery follows a uniform yet fresh and simple design, irrespective
                                                            of the legal entities and logos represented.

                                                           Electronic letterheads
                                                           Electronic letterheads should only be used when a letter to an
                                                           external party needs to be attached to an email. They should not be
                                                           used as substitutes for printed letterheads. The approved electronic
                                                           template for letterheads is available on the intranet or from the
                                                           Corporate Identity department. Please do not create your own
                                                           letterheads.

                                                     Approved templates for faxes are available on the intranet or from
                                                     the Corporate Identity department. Alternatively, printed fax headers
                                                     designed by Forms Design can be used.

                                                         Business cards are a very visible element of our identity, following a
                                                         consistent layout across the group.

                                                         As a lot of information needs to be communicated within a small
                                                         space, group standards stipulate that only the following information
                                                         should appear on a business card:

                                                         • First name and surname

                                                         • Position

                                                         • Business unit’s name

                                                         • Street address and/or postal address, depending on relevance

                                                         • Telephone and fax numbers

                                                         • Website address

                                                         • email address

                                                         Envelopes
                                                         For confidentiality and security purposes, envelopes are generally
                                                         not branded. General envelopes supplied by the internal stationery
                                                         centres can be used.

                                                         A return address should be either stamped or typed on the flap.

                                                         Should personalised envelopes and branding be required, the
                                                         following layouts are recommended.

                                                           Paper stock should be 120gsm conqueror woven brilliant white or
                                                           diamond white, or equivalent. The inside should be printed grey for
                                                           increased opacity.

                                                           Envelopes can be ordered through the usual procurement channels.

                                                           Internal correspondence
                                                           Formatting emails

                                                           The first choice for internal correspondence should be email, as it saves

                                                           personal greetings, visuals or animations, motivational messages and colour
                                                           backgrounds in your emails as this conflicts with our corporate identity.

                                                           Auto-signatures play the same role as business cards. As such they
                                                           must follow our corporate style and be typed in Arial. Your personal
                                                           identification signature should include the following information:

                                                           • Legal entity’s name

                                                     Memorandum

                                                     A memorandum (memo) should be used if internal printed
                                                     correspondence is required, or email is unsuitable. The template
                                                     can be downloaded from the intranet, and is also available from the
                                                     Corporate Identity department.

                                                     Production of corporate stationery should be of the highest available
                                                     quality, using the recommended paper stocks. Typesetting guidelines
                                                     and finished master artwork for conventional or digital printing are
                                                     available from the Corporate Identity department in various formats
                                                     such as Adobe Illustrator, Freehand and Corel Draw.
