tourism industry. The Governor's Conference provides a variety of educational and networking
opportunities, all designed to strengthen and enhance Arizona's tourism industry.

Purpose
The Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT) is providing registration scholarships for the 2009
Governor’s Conference on Tourism. The conference will be held July 8-10 in Phoenix. The

registration only. Scholarships will not cover activities related to the conference that are not
included in the cost of registration, such as hotel, travel expenses, the STAR Gala, etc.

The following organizations are eligible to apply:

             Arizona based Destination Marketing Organization (DMO) – a DMO is defined as
                an incorporated not-for-profit organization or governmental unit that is
                responsible for the tourism promotion and marketing of a town, city or region on a
                year round basis;
               Tribal governments and tribal tourism entities;
               501(c)3 or 501(c)6 non-profit tourism organizations.

Funding
Funds are available for the 2009 Governor’s Conference on Tourism only. AOT will submit the
recipients’ completed conference registration form along with the registration fee. No matching
funds are required. Scholarships will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis dependent
upon funding availability.
