Howdy Camp Mission Statement: Howdy Camp is an extended orientation program that seeks to welcome incoming students and introduce them to the vast resources available to them and the traditions that make Texas A&M a unique and outstanding university. Howdy Camp strives to create an environment that will foster friendships and welcome campers into the Aggie Family. Howdy Camp 2011 Eligibility Requirements: Undergraduates must have at least a 2.00 overall grade point ratio* and at least a 2.00 grade point average for the previous Fall semester at the time of selection and post at least a 2.00 grade point ratio for the regular (Spring and Fall) semesters during their term. (*If you do not currently have a 2.00 overall grade point ratio please attach a current transcript as well as a short description of how you plan on raising your overall grade point ratio to a 2.00.) Graduate Students must have at least a 3.00 overall grade point ratio and at least a 3.00 grade point ratio for the pervious Fall semester at the time of selection and post at least a 3.00 grade point ratio for the regular (Spring and Fall) semesters during their term. Applicant must be in good standing with the University and enrolled in at least six credit hours in a regular semester during their term. Applicant will be ineligible should the student fail to maintain the requirements described above and will no longer be allowed to attend camp functions after removal. Spring Event Date Counselor Refresher Jan 3rd Preparation Week Jan 3-6 2011 Howdy Camp 2011 Jan 7-9 2011 Howdy Camp Reunion Jan. 23, 2011 Fundraising Information Counselors will also be expected to pay $150 in dues. This money helps to pay for staff training, transportation to and from camp, as well as the three day, two night stay at Trinity Pines. Flexible payment plans will be available Howdy Camp raises all of its own money to go to camp. There will be various fundraising opportunities throughout the semester, a number of which each member will be expected to attend throughout the semester.
