1).     Au Gres Boat Access Site- Harbor Road, Au Gres.
The Au Gres Boat Launch is one of the largest boat access sites to Lake Huron. Facilities
include 4 boat ramps which can launch eight boats at one time, restrooms, and a pier
along the Au Gres River and Saginaw Bay. Pier is used by walkers, joggers or just for a
tranquil view of Saginaw Bay. Great fishing available along the piers. State of Michigan
Boat Access sticker is required for entry: $6 daily sticker or $24 annual sticker. This
allows access to all State of Michigan Boat launches.

2).      Au Gres City Day-Use Park & Riverfront Campground, N Main Street, Au Gres.
Au Gres City Riverfront Park has 109 camp sites available for daily, weekly, monthly or
seasonal rates. All major credit cards are accepted. Call (989) 876-8310 for questions or
reservations can be made online at . Inside the City Park,
facilities for public to use include tennis courts, basketball courts, volleyball court,
baseball/softball fields, shuffleboard, horseshoes, and children’s playground and lighted
riverfront walkway. All sporting equipment must be provided by patrons.

3).      Arenac County Park & Beach, 3199 Rumsey Road, Au Gres.
The Arenac County Park & Beach is located off of Rumsey Road in Au Gres. This
facility includes cabins available for rent along with day-use Park with picnic tables,
grills, volleyball, horseshoes and 900’ of sandy beach front. County Park which requires
entry fee: $3 daily pass to walk or bike in, $5 daily pass per car county resident, $7 daily
pass per car non-county resident, $30 season pass per car (includes admission to Oasis

4).    Au Gres Pedestrian Bridge over Au Gres River
Au Gres is known for their Pedestrian Bridge over the Au Gres River. This bridge makes
the Au Gres City Campground accessible to downtown Au Gres and safe for pedestrian
and bike traffic without having to cross US-23. Wedding ceremonies have been

5).    Chicken Coop Shoppe, 198 N Tonkey Road, Au Gres
Known for handmade gifts and home décor, the Chicken Coope Gift Shoppe offers
everything from food to twig and barn furniture. (989) 876-6630.
6).    The Au Gres Sheep Factory, 211 E Huron Road, Au Gres
We are a small factory which specializes in wool and sheepskin products. We have a
very small retail store which is open only when we are not doing craft fairs. If you are
passing through the Au Gres area, please stop by and see if we are open. We are happy

7).     Huron Breeze Golf Club, 5200 Huron Breeze Drive, Au Gres
Located just 4 ½ miles north of Au Gres on US-23, Huron Breeze Gold Club will

strategic bunkering, and large duck ponds. You will find the generous landing areas and

11). Gravelly Shoal Lighthouse, Coastline
Come and see one of Michigan’s beautiful lighthouses. Point Lookout juts from the
shore on the western shore of Lake Huron, approximately half-way between the mouth of
the Saginaw River and Tawas Point. With only five to eighteen feet above it, Gravelly
Shoal extends some 3 miles southeasterly from Point Lookout towards Big Charity Island.
To help guide down-bound vessels headed for Saginaw Bay through the deeper water
lying between the southeast end of Gravelly Shoal and Big Charity Island.

14). Arenac County Historical Society Museum, 304 E Michigan Avenue, Au Gres
Artifacts dating back to the 1800’s, home setting, such as a parlor and children’s rooms
are featured, items pertaining to Indian, lumbering in Arenac County, farming and
schools. Open from Memorial Day to Labor Day every Saturday and Sunday from 1-4

15). Downtown Au Gres Farmer’s Market, N Main Street, Au Gres
Downtown Au Gres Farmer’s Market will be held every Wednesday starting June 23,
2010 through September 29, 2010 from 2-6 p.m. at the Au Gres City Pavilion parking lot.
Call (989) 876-8811 to become a vendor or just show up! Participants needed- only a
$20 annual vendor fee! You set your schedule, come as often as you like!

16). Biking/Walking
Within the Au Gres City limits, you will find the newer streets all are pedestrian-friendly
with sidewalks for safe biking, walking, rollerblading or skateboarding. Phase I of the
City’s bike trail project just recently finished which starts out from the Au Gres City Park
on North Main Street and continues down South Main Street. Phase II is set to finish in
the fall 2010 which will have the bike trail going all the way out to the Au Gres State
Boat Access Site/mouth of the Au Gres River.

19). Standish Depot, 107 N Main Street (US-23), Standish
The Depot Welcome Center is located at the corner of M-61 and US-23 and is now open!
Please stop by and view the passenger railway cars or gather visitor information to get

20). Au Gres Fishing Piers
Within the Au Gres City limits, there are 3 public access, handicapped fishing piers along
the Au Gres River that are open and available for the public to use. The first group of
fishing piers is located inside the Au Gres City Campground, off of North Main Street,
Au Gres. The second fishing pier is at the end of South Main Street, along the Au Gres
River and the third fishing pier is at the end of Au Gres River Drive/Detroit Street. These
are all owned and maintained by the City of Au Gres.

21). Au Gres Chapel in the Park, 328 Saginaw Street, Au Gres
Within the KinderPlatz Park, between Michigan Avenue and Saginaw Street in Au Gres
sits the Chapel in the Park. This facility is available for rental for weddings or any other
