Trinity Mirror plc (Trinity Mirror) a UK based newspaper publishing company. It is engaged in the business of publishing
online and printed newspapers in the UK. The company along with its subsidiaries offers several categories of weekly and
daily newspapers in regional and national markets. Trinity Mirror also offers its news and information services through its
network of several websites, mobile sites, hyper local sites, and advertising services. It employs more than 6,500 people.

The company operates its business through two operating segments, namely, Regionals and Nationals.

The company through its Regional business segment publishes a wide portfolio of newspapers and operates companion
websites. This segment comprises six regions, namely, North West, North East, Midlands, South Wales, Scotland and
South. Some of the prominent newspapers published by the segment include the Journal, the Evening Gazette, the
Sunday Sun, the Western Mail, the Surrey Herald, and the Harrow Observer. The digital portfolio of the segment includes
newspaper companion websites, hyper local sites, mobile sites and classified sites. The company also publishes a
network of specialist jobsites such as gaapweb, totallylegal, totallyfinancial, planetrecruit, secsinthecity, and a property
website, Smartnewhomes. As of December 2009, this segment published more than 120 newspapers and operated over
400 websites. During the fiscal year 2009, Regional segment contributed 40% to the company’s total revenues.

Nationals segment of the company comprises two business divisions, namely, UK Nationals and Scottish Nationals. UK
Nationals is involved in the publication of three newspapers, the Daily Mirror, the Sunday Mirror and The People, while the
Scottish Nationals engages in the publication of the Daily Record and the Sunday Mail. This segment also operates a
digital portfolio consisting of newspaper companion websites, interactive services and mobile sites. During the fiscal year
2009, Nationals segment contributed 60% to the company’s total revenues.

The company's manufacturing network consists of eight printing presses in UK. It offers advertising services through its
Regional as well Nationals businesses. The company's Regional advertising services are offered by Arma; UK Nationals
division operates under Mirror Group Advertising; while SDR & SM Advertising operates the Scottish Nationals division.
The company also holds the contracts for various newspaper groups such as Dunfermline Press, Johnston Press, Kent
Messenger Group, Newsquest and Tindle Newspapers Ltd Group.

Geographically, the company classifies its business under three operating segments, namely, United Kingdom and
Republic of Ireland, Continental Europe and Rest of World. During the fiscal year 2009, the United Kingdom and Republic
of Ireland segment contributed 99.17% towards the total revenues of the company, while the Continental Europe and the
Rest of World contributed 0.71% and 0.12%, respectively.

Recently, the company extended its business by acquiring GMG Regional Media, from Guardian Media Group plc. Trinity
Mirror also entered into an agreement with Nova International to be the new media partners of the Bupa Great Run
events, British Gas Great Swim events and "Take to the Streets" campaign.
