Kyocera Corporation (Kyocera) develops, manufactures and distributes variety of products in the fields of the
environmental protection and telecommunications and information processing. It also offers parts and devices for
electronic equipment such as printers and multifunctional peripherals; and consumer electronic equipment such as mobile
phone handsets. Kyocera employs 62,845 people.

The Kyocera group comprises 213 companies, including Kyocera. The company operates through seven business
segments, namely, Fine Ceramic Parts Group, Electronic Devices Group, Telecommunications Equipment Group,
Semiconductor Parts Group, Applied Ceramic Products Group, Information Equipment Group and Others.

Through its Electronic Devices Group segment, the company develops and offers electronic devices and components
including capacitors and RF modules. Kyocera also offers connectors; crystal products, including timing devices, featuring
high-purity synthetic quartz crystals; and thin-film products, such as thermal printheads and liquid crystal displays. During
the fiscal year 2010, the Electronic Devices business segment contributed 18.6% towards the total revenues of the
company, generating JPY 199,939 million, a decrease of 13.5% over the previous year.

The Information Equipment Group segment of Kyocera operates through its subsidiary Kyocera Mita Corporation
(Kyocera Mita). Kyocera Mita manufactures page printer hardwares, multifunctional peripherals and copying machines in
China. Kyocera markets its page printers under the brand ECOSYS. During the fiscal year 2010, the Information
Equipment business segment contributed 21.6% towards the total revenues of the company, generating JPY 232,365
million, an increase of 1.3% over the previous year.

The Telecommunications business segment of the company operates in two business divisions namely, CDMA mobile
phone handsets business and telecommunication system equipment business. The company produces and distributes
CDMA mobile phone handsets to Japan based companies such as KDDI Corporation, SPRINT NEXTEL CORPORATION
and to other US telecommunication service providers. This division also produces and sells base stations, terminals and
handsets to WILLCOM, Inc. and UQ Communications Inc. The telecommunication system equipment business of the
segment develops and sells a broad range of handsets and base stations. During the fiscal year 2010, the
Telecommunications equipment business segment contributed 17.6% towards the total revenues of the company,
generating JPY 189,118 million, a decrease of 13.5% over the previous year.

Kyocera, through the Applied Ceramic Products Group segment, develops and markets solar cell and module; and
residential and industrial solar power generating systems. The company develops multicrystalline silicon solar cells using
the casting method. The segment operates four product lines, namely, medical and dental implants; jewelry and applied
ceramic related products; solar energy products and cutting tools. The solar energy products division engages in the
development, production and sale of a range of solar cells and modules, applied solar cell products and solar power
generating systems for industrial and residential use. It produces solar cells in Japan and other solar module products in
Japan, China, Czech Republic and Mexico. Cutting tools division within the segment offers a broad range of cutting tools
for metal processing in industrial production using composite materials such as ceramics and metals.

Medical and dental implants division manufactures various artificial knee joint replacement systems, medical and dental
implants, and other materials by combining materials, processing technologies of ceramics and titanium alloys. Further,
jewelry and applied ceramic related products division offers re-crystallized jewelry products such as alexandrines,
synthetic emeralds and rubies; which are manufactured using a single crystal growth technology. The division also
provides applied ceramic related products such as kitchen accessories. During the fiscal year 2010, the Applied ceramic
products segment contributed 14.6% towards the total revenues of the company, generating JPY 157,033 million, an
increase of 5.5% over the previous year.

The Semiconductor Components Group segment offers packages for semiconductors and electronic components, as well
as circuit substrates and mounting boards. This segment provides CCD (charge coupled device) or CMOS
(complementary metal oxide semiconductor) sensor ceramic packages, LSI ceramic packages, surface mount device
(SMD) ceramic packages, organic multilayer packages and wireless communication device packages. During the fiscal
year 2010, the Semiconductor components segment contributed 13.1% towards the total revenues of the company,
generating JPY 140,507 million, an increase of 4% over the previous year.

The Other segment includes the subsidiaries Kyocera Communication Systems Co., Ltd. (KCCS) and Kyocera Chemical
