Altria Group, Inc. (Altria Group), formerly known as Philip Morris Companies Inc., is one of the global leaders in the
tobacco industry. It manufactures and sells cigarettes and other tobacco related products in the US and internationally.
Marlboro, Copenhagen, Skoal, Red Seal and Husky are some of the brands of the company. Altria Group operates
through five reportable segments including Cigarettes, Smokeless Products, Cigars, Wine and Financial Services.

Through the Cigarettes segment, the company manufactures and sells premium brands including Marlboro, Virginia Slims
and Parliament. Basic is its principal discount brand. Marlboro is the largest selling cigarette brand in the US, with
shipments of 126.5 billion units in 2009. The total cigarette shipment in the US was 148.7 billion units. Marlboro recorded
41.8% retail share of the market, followed by Basic (3.4%), Virginia Slims (1.8%), Parliament (1.6%) and Other (1.3%).
The segment operates through the subsidiary - Philip Morris USA, which is the largest tobacco company in the US. In the
fiscal year 2009, the Cigarettes segment accounted for 88.8% of the total revenues.

Under the Smokeless Products segment, the company produces and markets smokeless products through the subsidiary
– U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. Copenhagen and Skoal are the premium brands and Red Seal and Husky are the value
brands. It also offers Marlboro snus, a Philip Morris USA spit-less smokeless tobacco product. The segment’s domestic
shipment volume was 634.7 million units in 2009. The Smokeless Products segment accounted for 5.8% of the total
revenues in the fiscal year 2009.

Through the Cigar business segment, the company is engaged in offering machine-made large cigars and pipe tobacco
products under the brand - Black & Mild. Black & Mild is the second largest selling machine-made large cigar brand in the
US. The segment’s shipment volume in 2009 was 1,259 million units. The segment operates through the subsidiary - John
Middleton Co. In the fiscal year 2009, the Cigars segment accounted for 2.2% of the total revenues.

Under the Wine segment, the company operates wine estates through the subsidiary - Ste. Michelle Wine Estates. It is
engaged in production of wine with operations in California, Oregon and Washington. In the fiscal year 2009, the Wine
segment accounted for 1.7% of the total revenues.

Under the Financial Services segment, the company is engaged in maintaining a portfolio of leveraged and direct finance
leases through the subsidiary - Philip Morris Capital Corporation. In the fiscal year 2009, the Financial Services segment
accounted for 1.5% of the total revenues.

In addition, Altria Group, Inc. holds a 27.3% economic and voting interest in SABMiller plc, the world’s second-largest
brewer.

Altria Group’s operations are spanned across various geographic regions namely, Canada, Uruguay, Japan, Portugal,
