Get higher with the Currumbin Extreme Green Challenge
Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on the Gold Coast will launch the next phase in the development of the newest
nature‐based adventure experience for the Gold Coast in December 2008 with the Extreme Green Challenge, in
association with Adventure Parc.
The Extreme Green Challenge, which opens December 13, has been trialled by Currumbin over two previous school
holidays and is based on the Adventure Parc concept, which takes elements of SAS commando training delivered
as a safe fun and exciting treetops ropes course for children and adults.
Adventure Parc started in France 12 years ago when founder Denis Payan used his military commando training to
create a playground for children and adults.
There are now more than 20 Adventure Parcs located in France and one other in Australia at Mt Tamborine.
The Currumbin course will be like no other – surrounded by native wildlife, combined with world‐class wildlife
display and shows located just a short walk from one of Australia’s best beaches.
At Currumbin, the Extreme Green Challenge is set within lush surroundings with 14 challenges, including rope
bridges and ladders high into the treetop canopy over the Sanctuary, before finishing with an exhilarating flying fox
over the Crocodile Wetlands.
The Extreme Green Challenge has been designed for family fun, fitness and team building and is suitable for
children from 1.6 metres in height from heels to the tip of their outstretched hands.
For just a $10 upgrade on Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary entry, visitors will enjoy a day of unlimited use on the
Extreme Green Challenge between 10 am and 4 pm daily. All necessary equipment and a safety briefing is provided
for each participant.
It’s the Gold Coast’s newest eco‐friendly, adventure‐based activity and brings a new dimension to Currumbin
Wildlife Sanctuary’s range of activities, shows and presentations.
The Extreme Green Challenge is part of a series of exciting new additions to Currumbin in coming months, which
will include an Introduction to Australia’s Green Cauldron Experience, the Green Guardian Theatre and new Forest
Walk Trails to open in December 2008 and January 2009.
This exciting phase of the Extreme Green Challenge will operate daily until April 27 2009 when the course will he
further expanded to even greater challenges in June 2009.
