EASTERN CAPE LOCAL AND DIGITAL CONTENT PROVINCIAL SUMMIT | 2010

PROGRAMME
Eastern Cape Local and Digital Content
Provincial Summit

EVENT PURPOSE:

• The Eastern Cape Local & Digital Content Provincial Summit follows two national events that
the Department of Communications (DoC) hosted in May 2010 - the Summit on Local & Digital
Content as well as the Community TV Policy Workshop , both of which were a resounding
    success.

• It is a dual consultation and feedback checkpoint, to update the provincial stakeholders about
the progress achieved thus far towards the implementation of the Provincial Consortium
Television Model and the Provincial Content Generation Hub, a journey the ECDC began in the
third quarter of the 2009 calendar year.

EXPECTED INSTRUCTIONAL OUTCOMES:

• It is expected that by the end of the Provincial Summit the Eastern Cape would have a succinct
Roadmap, Master-plan and Public Funding Commitments for the implementation of the
Provincial Content Generation Hub (CGH). The CGH will feed platforms such as the envisaged
Provincial Community Television Station, commonly known as ECCTV.

• Business Plan Development & Costing.
