Welcome...
Message from The Theatre Director

The Phoenix Theatre, Blyth, is rapidly becoming a
landmark in the South E ast of our county, noted for
staging the highest quality and broadest cross
section of theatrical entertainment that is available.
Entirely independent, The Phoenix relies on your support and we hope
our programme reflects your comments to us about choices of
entertainment you prefer.

We are particularly privileged this year to be able to open our season in
September with a fabulous tribute to the ever great David Bowie, and
to follow that up with a huge programme of stars, and your friends, in
our Great Variety Concert.

Blake is one of our greatest coups ever, stopping off, as they are,
on their national tour, to bring us their unique and very special
brand of entertainment.

Add to this mix some of the Phoenix Theatre's own productions -
panto is already booking very quickly - and, I think you'll agree, there's
something for everyone once again at The Phoenix Theatre.

As always, I look forward to welcoming you here.

                         colourful career Aladdinsane faithfully
recreate the sights and sounds of many of
                         his classic songs.

                         Combining Paul Henderson's stunning

  The Fifteen Streets
                 Adapted by Rob Bettinson
                    From the novel by
                Catherine Cookson
Set in 1910, the Fifteen Streets tells the story of
one family's fight for physical and moral
survival in the poverty and squalor of the
                   dockland slums of Tyneside.

At the centre is the apparently impossible love
affair between rugged docker John O'Brien
             and Mary Llewellyn, a schoolteacher.

     An Evening With BLAKE

Blake’s incredible journey started in 2007 when four friends reunited on
Facebook and quickly took the music world by storm as they blurred the lines
between pop and classical singing, creating a unique sound like none before.
Since that time they have released 3 award winning albums, have travelled the
globe, appeared on over 80 tv shows, sung for Royalty, performed at Wembley,
Twickenham & Wimbledon and can count a host of legendary stars amongst
     their loyal fans.

Their live shows continue to wow audiences all around the world, with a rich
harmony sound that brings spectacular colour to much loved classical and
pop anthems. As four friends who have known each other for over 20 years,
their onstage humour and rat-pack mischief make every show unique.
This show features new songs from their latest album, Together, which shot
straight into the Top 5 of the UK Classical Charts, was No.1 in Australia, No.1
in South Africa and was nominated for a 2nd coveted CLASSICAL BRIT Award
     for ‘Album of the Year’.

After headlining the 2010 Classical Brit Awards at the Albert Hall earlier this
year, the band are looking forward to releasing their 3rd album in Japan, touring
in Australia and visiting the United States, before returning to the UK to tour.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to see them performing live for you.

                                             BEATLES
Forty years on, and the music of
The Beatles remains as fresh and
uplifting as it was back in the
                                             “swinging sixties”. The classic
                                             songs that have now inspired
                                             and influenced generations are
                                             performed with passion and
                                             reverence by The Cavern Beatles.

The Cavern Beatles are all accomplished musicians, but it is their vocal abilities
that have most impressed critics of the group over the years. They are all born
and brought up in Liverpool, and this gives them their seemingly effortless
accuracy in their interpretation of the Fab Four's catalogue.
