The Temple of the Holy Spirit

Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any
man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple
ye are. 1 Corinthians 3:16-17

What? Know ye not that your body is temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of
God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your
body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 10:31

Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians

For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godiness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the

Sex Before Marriage

But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and
from things strangled, and from blood. Acts 15:20

fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well. Acts 15:29

As touching the Gentile which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such

Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have

1. Sex is Only for Married Couples

Let the husband render unto the wife due benevolence: and likewise also the wife unto the
husband. The wife hath not power of her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the
husband hath no power of his own body, but the wife. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be
with consent for a time, that ye may give yourselves to fasting and prayer; and come together
again, that Satan tempt you not for your incontinency. 1 Corinthians 7:3-5

The Consequences of Fornication

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness,
lasciviousness, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you
before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which du such things shall not inherit the
kingdom of God. Galatians 5:19,21

Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will
judge. Hebrews 13:4

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over
to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the
vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 1:7


Thou shalt not commit adultery. Exodus 20:14

The Consequences of Adultery

For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will
hunt for the precious life. Proverbs 6:26
But whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he that doeth it destroyeth
his own soul. Proverbs 6:32

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with
mankind. 1 Corinthians 6:9

God hates sin, but He loves the sinner. In order for mankind to enter heaven, God requires three
things: acceptance of Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, true repentance, and obedience to
his Commandments.


When thou sittest to eat with a ruler, consider diligently what is before thee: And put a knife to
thy throat, if thou be a man given to appetite. Be not desirous of his dainties: for they are
deceitful meat. Proverbs 23:1-3
